View Full Version : Extra power Wolff springs for MK40?
What is your experience and or recommendation for Wolff recoil springs for the MK40. How powerful should I go? I just purchased the rods and the standard 20.5# springs, however I am sort of regretting not getting the next highest power springs. Apparently the MK40 and the MK9 share the same spring strength, by the way. Anyway, your thoughts are highley appreciated.
sorry man, the search is down. I asked pretty much the same ? and got lots of help from a member here, like 3-4 weeks ago. In short it was like 22lbs. But you have to dial it in just for your taste. You may like the 24 or it may cause a malfunction. I still have the stock springs in while I'm waiting for the spring kit. Its also a good excuse to blow a couple hundred rounds down range.
The link was to 1911 forum, where a bunch of guys talk about hotrodding the kahr.
I know its not enough info, but I'm working on it.

I use the highest available Wollf spring in my MK40. Major improvement over the stock recoil setup. There R 2 possible issues with the heavier spring.
1. Much harder to chamber a round by using the slingshot method.
2. The MK series is more apt to get a FTFeed if U have a weak grip/wrist.
