View Full Version : USP Compact vs USP fullsize
How do these two compare in terms of the way they shoot, feel when you shoot them, etc...

For carry, USPc is better. For a target, USP is better.
However, when it was my turn to get a USP full size, I just decided to get USP tactical.
I like how USPc shoots compare to Full size USP.
The reason I ask is because I shot a full-size .45 USP at the range the other day, and didn't really care for it. It felt too big for my hands. I don't have small hands, but I do have skinny hands. The gun just felt bigger than I was comfortable with. Couldn't shoot it worth a poop either. :)

I got small hand and have both Compact and tactical.
I can close slide release easy with compact, but I do need to move my finger alittle for the Tactical.
My gf has a USPc as well and she loves it.
Accuracy wise, I would say it is pretty accurate, but I had hard time adjusting to the sight picture.
One other note is that, the compact has 2 different size for 9/40/357 and 45 (I am sure you did your research on that).
My personal opinion on USPc is that, it is very practical firearm. I would recommand it.

I have the full-size USP.45. It is my favorite pistol. It is rather large but it s manageable for me. I also like the "push" recoil as opposed to the "snap" of some other caliber. My wife ('5 5", 125) has shot it and didnt to do bad. The heavy first trigger pull was the most difficult thing for her. I plan to carry mine in the future in fall and winter and have been "practicing" dressing around it. I currently have been carrying it around the house in a Don Hume JT slide. It is covered by and wearing a xxl button down shirt. It prints with movenment with a white shirt. However, darker colored shirts did a great job of hiding the pistol. I will be carrying my g-19 or sig in the spring and summer. If you prefer IWB, posters has suggested CTAC, Rusty Sherrick and Side Armor. I have spoken to the guy at HBE who said he would have a mold for the usp .45f in a month or so. In all, I think the .45 USPF is a great pstiol. If I were to get anothe HK it would be the .40c with the LEM for carry in warmer months. Also for home defense my USP and remington 870 stand guard.

i carry the uspc .45. i'm slim, and wouldn't be able to hide the full size quite as easily. i did own a full size, and i loved it, but i sold it to a friend so i could get the usp tactical.
i think i shoot the compact a little better than i do the full size. not sure why, but whatever.
if you can hide the full size, and you don't mind the extra weight, go for it, but there really is no wrong choice between those two pistols.
I have a fullsize and compact .45. The compact does have a smaller grip, but with use I found that I prefer the feel of the fullsize. The fullsize is also a lot softer shooting and, for me, more accurate.
