I'm trying to clean out the gun safe prior to deployment. If you want a good clean old-style M9, please take a look. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?item=34958264
Reserve price is $350. Pistol has not been fired since leaving factory.
Thanks

good gawd man, why not??
j/k good price w/ 4 mags, but if you can hold on to it for 6 more months it'll sell for more once cdnn runs out of clearance 'old style'.
Good luck w/ the sale.

This one wasn't fired because I originally ordered 2 from CDNN. I fired a couple hundred rounds through the other, and found it rubbed my stronghand thumb raw in one spot. So, here's the 2nd NIB pistol, needs to go to a good home. I think its a good deal, hope someone else does too.
Ok, i know your selling the pistol already and i'm not trying to talk you out of it, but this advice carrys over to other handgun shooting as well...
I had the same problem my first few trips out w/ my M, as well as the first time i shot glocks. A number of other steyr owners have had the same. It's because of the high degree of 'cut in' at the top of the grip and it hits your thumb because you have a bad grip (which is still a bad grip giving poor control w/ any firearm it's just more noticeable w/ steyrs and somewhat more w/ glocks).
If your keeping your wrist straight it puts the force of recoil off center. Rotate the gun (any pistol) in your strong hand untill you can draw a line from muzzletip to elbow not so your wrist is straight and the gun is cockeyed to the rest of your arm. The back portion of the grip should now be nestled in the webbing between thumb and forefinger.
just in case you think i'm full of hot air, this is the same grip tought by rob leatham, and most big name competitors, here is a link to a tutorial done by a master class idpa shooter here...

the area in question is seen best in the first picture.
I have tought this grip to two firends of mine (one using a sig, and one a 1911) and both said it felt wierd but their groups INSTANTLY shrank in half and they said recoil felt much better.
sorry the steyr wasn't for you, shoot straight and be safe.

I have to 2nd the previous post. The first time I brought it out, it destroyed my knuckle. I've hardly noticed it at all since.

Mine chewed up my thumb where it is attached to the hand , the same on my wifes thumb when she shot it. ON close exam there was "overflow" from mold marks around the 2 indents or squares on the back/underside of the frame where the web of the hand would go. I took some very fine sandpaper to the overflow, now problem solved.
Please see your private message. The lady and I would like to see the gun tonight if we can or this weekend. I am in Anchorage.

BTW, for some reason the Gun Broker site is not working for me, the pictures are not coming up.
