I took a pic with some various wood grips.
My wife really doesn't "know" what I have in my safe and doesn't seem to care most of the time. I kinda got busted while I was taking this photo. "Is that how many Makarov's you have?!" Uhhhh.....almost. I was too impressed that she knew what they were than to answer her.

VERY nice grips!!!
How do you get them so they don't crack? Or isn't that an issue?

The only time they crack is when I drop them while working on them. I've done that a few times.;T
These are originally Makarov grips that have wood laminated onto the sides.

Ok that is what I was wondering...
Would it work to use sheetmetal under the wood and inset it in the inside of the grip? So it doesn't show on the sides?
If you don't, does the wood break off?

The original grips are sanded down flat. There is still original grip material under the wood for support. With a good epoxy, the wood will not come off and shouldn't break. The only reason I break them is that I am too stupid to stay over my work bench or carpeted area when I am working on them and they hit the concrete. I'm kinda like the dumb mouse that keeps getting zapped everytime he touches the cheese...and continues to do it.;5
I'll learn. That Burlwood is expensive.
