I have a real problem with my glock 22 and don't have any idea what is going on.
I replaced the stock guide rod and spring for a Top Glock stainless steel, noncaptured rod and springs. I have a 17# and a 22# spring. I had the 17 installed. Also, I put a new ejector in as well. I have a comp trigger and new firing pin safety. Here is the problem.
When I went to the range today, the Glock double taps by itself. I would get 2 quick shots without trigger reset. I tried this with the 10 round mag. I took it apart and replaced the trigger group, extractor and replaced the noncaptured rod with the factory rod set up. When I did this, I got one shot and no ejection of the casing.
I'm not the brightest bulb so I need some help.
Thanks,
Butch:(

Wow Butch, I don't know where to begin...it's only rhetorical, but why change out what works so perfectly as is? Anyway, I'd recommend putting everything back to original (which you say you did, but how 'bout the connector?) I know you didn't mention anything about changing out the connector but did you? Anyway, as for the casing not ejecting there's only acouple things that would cause a spent casing not to eject. If the ejector is operating properly it could be limp wristing while shooting. Would the spent cartridge stovepipe out the top of the ejection port or would it not even extract from the chamber? The extractor/ejector is a rather simple mechanical device and operation (provided everything is stock and assembled properly). Did you replace the ejector spring with a lighter one? Or is the white plastic spring plug in place on the end of the spring (under the back plate)? Maybe with alittle dialog we can determine the causes of what's happening with your Glock.
Put the stock parts back in and try again.
report the results.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with your stainless steel guide rod or springs. All that other stuff is your prob, so drop em.

Bingo. Based off the information you gave, I'm guessing your problem is evolving from the firing pin safety. Do a firing pin safety check as outlined in your manual. If the spring is missing or improperly installed, it's possible that you're getting slam fires from the striker protruding from the breech during slide cycle thereby hitting a fresh round's primer upon return to battery.

Thanks for the replys. It was the firing pin safety spring that was the culprit. When I took it apart for inspection, I found that the spring had fallen out of the safety and was laying sideways in the slide. I guess my od age is catching up with me.

Glad to hear it. That could be a tad dangerous.
