I emailed Mike and he's expecting close to 500 ft lbs from his 9mm 115 and 124 loads. Sure makes the 9mm a whole new caliber.:)

GregG17 07-26-2005, 16:42 I keep hearing about this 9mm ammo when is it going to be for sale? TED 07-26-2005, 23:31 If that is true it may be helpful for some states that require a certain foot pounds for hunting. TED PaleGreenHorse 07-27-2005, 04:39 Mike stated that he will post the #'s before the ammunition is available for purchase....I've been checking this club everyday in hopes to see those #'s. Heavier weight Double Tap 9mm 147-gr. Gold Dots @ 1,125 should easily penetrate over 14+" as well, which is at least two more inches than CorBon says their 9mm DPX achieves. If you like underpenetration, buy CorBon. Otherwise, select a tougher bullet that goes through arms and reaches the vitals, unlike CorBons fast & light philosophy. I thought the Barnes X-Pistol-Bullet was quite tough. ^8 Vigilant 08-12-2005, 18:15 As I said in a similar thread, I plan to wait a few weeks after the first release for the rush to pass, and then order a hundred rounds or so and see how I like it. For me, the 'sweet spot' as far as recoil in a pistol is the 124-grain +P Gold Dot round from Georgia Arms, which comes within 20 fps of Speer's factory offering, at a fraction of the cost. If the Double Tap counterpart is pretty much similar in terms of recoil, that will become my round of choice. Vig DeputyDavid 08-13-2005, 15:57 Here's the latest email from McNett: Though it has taken longer than I thought to get things ready, the 9mm loads will be ready to ship on 8/15/05! Here are the velocities for the first three loads from a stock G17: 115gr GDHP +p - 1400fps 124gr GDHP +p - 1300fps 147gr GDHP +p - 1125fps We have been moving the whole operation to Cedar City, Utah (almost 300 miles away!). Due to the move all of our 9mm and big bore revolver loads were pushed back. -Mike PaleGreenHorse 08-13-2005, 16:39 Originally posted by Disciple I thought the Barnes X-Pistol-Bullet was quite tough. ^8 They are tough, all copper construction just like the Barnes triple shock rifle bullet. Less chance of fragmentation with the lighter wieghts in both rifle and pistol calibers. MinTac 08-14-2005, 00:07 that load wont do anything better than my cor bon 115 grain DPX load will do!!! Cheaper? daniel234 05-23-2006, 09:38 Corbon rounds are not bad they hit very fast and very hard but they underpenetrate and the jackets tend to come off. I feel that the dpx 115 moves Corbon slightly in the direction of fixing these problems giving Corbon users a bit of a bonus in penetration and weight retention. However if I was actively looking for a hard hitting round with significant penetration I would use a Double tap 124 or 147 over the Corbon load.
