SG - G-22 - 6/90 - 2nd Gen.

AUV - G-17 - 3/94 - 2nd Gen.

GAA - G-26 - 3/04 - 2.5 Gen. - blue label

All dates per Glock customer service.

My two blue label L.E. Glocks in the G series didn't have fired casings included. My E series G21, blue label did come with casings. Somewhere between EKZ and GAA they seemed to have dropped them for the L.E. guns. These guns were shipped to a local L.E. dealer, not the actual agency.

Just got off the phone with them. The only thing they could tell me is that it was produced in Apr 97, not Apr 98. It sat on the shelf until Dec 97, then shipped to a distributor. She said they don't have the records of exactly what it came from the factory with, so I need to do some more research.

Very odd. Does it have finger grooves?

Yup. Finger grooves and rail. Its definetely a third gen. Theres another one just like it at my FFL now (also with the Henrico markings), but it only has the Trijicon sights, not the NY spring. Tomorrow I'll take a look at the ser #.

An April 1997 G-22 would be a Gen 2. I think Glock is fibbing to you.

I listed yours along side the other KSZ G-32 since it was from Jan 2007. These models tend to sit around Glock waiting for distributor to call for them and so have various months for the same model, same prefix.

HA! Yes, as a matter of fact I actually did just that! There is no wear whatsoever, and copper still intact. The inside of the barrel had some debris in it, but my new G19 was the same way. One of the three mags and paperwork had been removed, but other than that, there is nothing indicating that it was used, carried or fired.

This is my 13th or so Glock, but definitely the oldest "new" one I've ever bought.

Both of these are brand new, within the last few months. We don't have a comprehensive list, but depend on owners to provide data or call Glock.

Are you out of the USA? Otherwise, you should have a small brown envelope with each containing fired casings. There's a date on that envelope.

Red Label == >10 capacity mags.
Blue Label == LEO packaging with two spare mags,

Which model are yours?

You'd have to contact Glock for possible history. G-22s are typically LE issue.

TopGlock dates it 9/93.

I'll list it as:

APG - G-22 - September 1993 - 2nd Gen. - NS
TG dates "MOHP" as 10/1/1993

I'll list it at the top as:

MO####HP - G22 - October 1993 - 3rd Gen. - Missouri Highway Patrol, has badge and "MSHP" on the left side of the slide

I looked through all 94 pages of this thread tonight to check (I hate being a newb!), and these are the closest I could get. I have a 2nd Gen Missouri State Highway Patrol G22 with a ser# of RW###US . As far as I can see by your list, it was born on Oct/Nov 1990. No Austria markings. I will call Glock tomorrow to verify this. One thing I have noted to mention is that it has only "Glock, Inc., Smyrna, Ga" on the right side of the frame. It also has the MSHP, and shield on the right side of the slide. This is my first Glock, (and post) but not my last. I think I got a good buy with this one. I found it in a pawn shop for $315 cash. I am looking to get a NIB G21SF early this summer. Does anyone know if I can special order one with a Ser# to match my military service? ###VET?

1) you NEVER need to read through all pages of this thread. I pull all the information forward to the FIRST PAGE. You are a newb. :tongueout:

2) yes, call glock and post the results. They are the keepers of the true data, but only release it one owner at a time.

3) Some more LE info here: http://www.glockfaq.com/markings.htm#le

4) The old Glocks says just Smyrna, but they were made in Austria. The new Glocks that just say Smyrna, are indeed, made in USA (just the frames).

In your opinion, is it worth sending it back? I am afraid to, as it may not have matching #s when it gets back to me.

Any Glock Armorer can make the necessary repairs and shouldn't charge you for it so you don't have to send it in. It would be best to send it to Glock as they will go through it and it will good as new.

They only change the innards. They won't swap out the frame or slide/barrel so # will match.

You or a competent friend could also make this upgrade. You'll have to buy the parts, but shouldn't cost much. About what you would spend on shipping it back to Glock.

Good luck.

All our data is user submitted. We have no access to data other than what you provide. If you have ETD, then call Glock, get the date of import, and submit it (with model) for inclusion in our massive alpha prefix database!

Also, you need to call Glock and ask them if yours is in the Frame Recall!!!

My guesstimate is: Aug/Sept 2002

Hi Gang, Newbie here.

Many years ago I purchased a Glock 17 new, '88 or '89. I have searched the site and have not been able to locate the serial number so it may be a new entry. I still have the gun, box, papers, mags, loader, cleaning rod, brush, and warranty card. I have put less than 2 mags of ammo through it since new.

1st Generation, 9mm
Ser, no. EB XXX US on underside of frame and on barrel.
Austrian proof marks on right side of frame and barrel with letters ATT forward of proof on barrel
Glock,Inc Smyrna,Ga on right side of frame at top.
Adjustable rear sight with white outline and white dot front.
Box has multicolored label on top.."1987 US Award - Best In Market". It also has the factory white label on the side of the plastic box.
It has a 2 pin frame.

Would this be a new entry for the project?

So I bought a used G30 that starts with EVL8xxUS. Does that mean it is a frame recall? How do I find out if the previous owners sent it to Glock? Does anyone know what was the problem with the recalled frames?

1) Does the serial number on the frame begin with "1" as in "1EVL"? Yes, it has been recalled and replaced. No, it has not been replaced. Call Glock to see if your specific serial number is on the frame "upgrade" list.

2) There are a lot of different models with the same prefix, especially those with the same frame size.

G32C Prefix HZB, What year?

The odd models, 357's/C's, are often produced out of order timewise compared to their peers. The best way is to call Glock and ask them.

Otherwise, I estimate it to be in the June/July 2006 timeframe, but probably later.

When I took the Armorer's Course back in 1998, the instructor, Chuck Miller, told us (and I have it written in my notes) that FG is where the second generation frames started for the G17. So FG 001 should be the first 2nd generation frame (I assume Glock doesn't use 000 suffixes).

And other's have been told there are no such things as Generations.

The question is: who do you believe? The rep on the phone who can't see your Glock, or a picture that clearly defines the variations that has been reviewed and confirmed by thousands of owners, and a definitive list of owner submitted alpha prefixed.

1) I already had an OD G-19 LHY, Sept 2007. Interesting. Glock must have a stack of them sitting around and pull them out, test fire them and then ship them when a distributor request an OD. I listed yours along with the other one. I enjoy the variety of test fire dates for the exact same model.

2) BLW is around May/June 1995.
BWC is around April 1996.

Call Glock, ask them and report back. That's how it works. You can be the first to report these! Thanks!

My LCF G22 was made when

May 2007? We don't know.

Are you in the USA? Do you live out of MD and NY? There should have been a little brown envelope with your Glock papers that contain two fired casings. What's the date on that envelope? No envelope? (Some report Blue Label Glocks don't have and some do have the fired casing envelope.) Call Glock.

If out of the USA, but in Europe. There is a three letter date code on the barrel. Look on the ejection port. After the serial number.

Elsewhere? Dunno. Stick with the May 2007 date.

I just bought it from cdnn as a used pistol looks great and saved about $100 from a new one. I thought it was a later model and has night sights. I bought a G code holster for it and I really like the holster so far. Have not had a chance to shoot the G22 yet looking forward to it though.

Topglock.com used to run a site to date the older glocks, before alpha prefix DXZ, but they took it down. I guess folks got tired of hammering them when they couldn't find their new glocks. You have us for already submitted serial numbers or call glock. I'm sorry we disappoint you. :tongueout:

That's a very good question..... I hadn't noticed that. I took the July 2007 date off the first page in this post, but the cartridge envelope is definitely dated jun 2007. The SN is correct and it is G23 with fixed sights and came with 3 - 13 round mags.

For you and other submitters, please only list known dates: like from Glock, the box, barrel test fire date codes, or dates from the collected cartridge casings envelope (USA only, except MD and NY and possibly some Blue Label kits).

We use your submitted dates to populate the listings on the first page. If you don't have a date, just say "Unknown". If you copy a date off the first page, it might be wrong, as in this case. It is better to be unknown than wrong. Thanks for your cooperation.
