I suspect it is a Refurb. Look at the DCU listing. The overall date is too new for the rest of the series. I'll list it with your data.

IIRC, there's a number stamped inside the dust cover for a refurb underneath where the barrel rests. Not 100% sure on this. Someone will come along and correct me. :)

i asked glock if it was refurb they said it was not. also talked to a tech guy there and asked him also, including if it ever had any recalls or work done on it, and he said nothing showed,

I really don't know to be honest. It looks brand new, but was sold as a used gun and the envelope with the fired case (along with all the accessories, etc) were included.

It also has the integral lock in the backstrap, although I'm not sure if that helps date it. If I remember correctly the integral lock was not included in the frames that had issues? Didn't the built in lock come to Glock at a much later time?

If it is a refurb, I would assume since they had the pistol 10/30/07 they would have performed whatever upgrades were necessary. There is no 1- in front of the serial # however, and the included manual has a revision date of 11/06 on the back.

Maybe an used serial # from long ago? I'm not sure, I'll call Monday and ask for the gun's history.

All Glock frames from EAA to EZZ had the potential to have issues, not all did, but could have, issue was rails..A factory refurb would be marked on label on box...

fiat_justicia
07-04-2008, 00:41
No such notation on the clam shell. It came in a clam shell box, label simply has Glock 26 on the left above the UPC, ERE9XX below the upc, W/LOCK above right UPC, and across the top of the sticker it says FXD 5.5LB.

It was obviously at the factory 10/30/07, but I have no way of knowing the rest of it's history until Monday. Hope I get a friendly tech on the line...heheh
Wish I had a side by side picture to see the "needs replacement" vs "replaced" frame rails, then I'd know for sure.

Good question. I looked at it a few minutes before I listed it. Look at the one following:

ERE - G-26 - October 2007 - 3rd Gen.
ERF - G-27 - August 2007 - - per Glock, made in March 2004, but fired casings said 8/07

Perhaps Glock had a cache of these "E" and was hesitant to release them owing to the recall status.

The rails that failed had a sharp crease rather than an rolled over edge. Perhaps these few that were held back were somewhere between and they needed some real world data to see if they would work out ok... Always fun second-guessing Glock!:wavey:

Does anyone know if the frames made in 2004 that were recalled (upgrade, whatever..lol) had the integral lock?

My best guess is this has no 1- because they waited for the new frame to come from Austria and replaced it in 10/07 either for the gun shop I traded for it from, or the previous owner. I'm almost positive the integral lock in the backstrap was not around when the frames that had the issues were being made.

I'll keep you updated! Until then, here's a pic of the rear rails:

Also come with the Gen 4 mags
They are some number (10 digits) on the frame just above the pins and I have no idea what they are
Can some one tell me what are they?

The date is correct. Matches the one we already have. The mags have the broad cut out on the front for the ambi-release?

Others have reported extra numbers on the frame.

Look at the frame. Does it say "Made In Austria"?

Dandapani

DYY--G23--3rd Gen--Unknown Frame says "made in Austria" Serial number on frame has "US" suffix Barrell as ".40" stamped on top and the serial number followed by the Glock logo followed by a pentagon on the side. Trijicon Night sites installed, bought used this way, factory? 2 13 rd magazines stamped "Restricted LE/GOVT Only"

All standard markings. Do you have the original box? Is the label blue?

Spoke with Glock this morning. Manufacture date was Mar 2004 according to their records, and pistol was not purchased/shipped by distributer until 10/07 which is why the fired casings show that date.

Tech believed the period of time between manufacture and purchase dates was most likely due to it being one with the optional ILS (internal locking system) selected. They show no record of it ever being sold or shipped prior to 10/07.

Not on frame "upgrade" list.

No, just a 2 pin 3rd gen. Made for a short while before Glock standardized on the 3 pin for all frames.

2.5 gen is mainly the large frames with finger grooves and NO rails.

The very first posts of this thread have a running list of all reported serial #s.
The closest to your AUF reported is AUH, also a G19.

AUH - G-19 - March 1994 - 2nd Gen.

First, my thanks to Lazer for answering your questions. Yes, the first page has all the postings summarized so you don't have to read the entire thread. He answered as I would have about your AUF based on the info we have thus recorded. If you want an exact answer call Glock and post your results here so I can include it in the list for the next person who might have an AUF.

Second, the alpha prefix is not assigned to a particular model number. Plenty of examples of the same alpha prefix being assigned to different models, some with the same frame size, some with different frame sizes.

Purchased 2/5/2008

Joro, does that number mean something, or is it just that song by clutch? I've wondered since I heard it if it has significance

What model is this? This isn't the Gold Edition? What have a G-19 Gold Edition already listed. If yours is just a regular Glock, then post the model number and I'll list it as a duplicate alpha prefix.

If it helps, I also had a red label on the case my Gold Edition came in.

I noticed that MEY for a G19 is already listed as year unknown and 2.5 gen. I purchased my G19 this past weekend with the MEY prefix. It was factory fired 6/2008 and it is obviously a 3rd gen.

Dan,

Dated 8/10/2008, page 118

Just to keep you up to date the one you added to was from SMORIN2 further up on page 118, his is correct, he purchased a G19C - LRX, he is from Maine (the State that is).

I am '19 I also purchased a G19C but from Minnesota.

Please note there should be two (2) consecutive LRX G19C's. My number again is:

LRX - G19C - July 2008 - 3rd Gen. (Plastic sights)

Hope this helps your great project, its surely helped me

Look on the barrel (chamber hood area) for 3 alphabetic letters. That's the barrel proof date code.

HGX-G20-unknown-3rd gen

I see the page currently has HGX listed as a G19, but I'm sitting here looking at it on my G20. Would they use the same prefix for different models?

:wavey: did you look in your paperwork that came with your new Glock? There should be a small manilla brown envelope containing two fired casings. What's the date on that envelope?
