R', thanks for all the listings. You are probably aware that, in the USA at least, only the frame serial number uniquely identifies your Glock. Looks like Smyrna goofed up. Have you contacted them? I wonder what the dealer used for serial number on the yellow form?
OH BTW, thank you so much for listing the data items in the correct order. Makes editing them into the DB listing much easier! ;c ;c ;c

The gun club where I work has an FFL. So, using the FFL we ordered the G17 from a wholesaler. When it came in I called them back to let them know the lower ended in "3", not "4" as they showed on the receipt. They said, "Nope, we sent "4".I had to explain to them which parts had which #, and that they had better change their bound book. (They looked for another G17 in inventory with the opposite #'s, too.)
I called Glock and the first thing the gentleman said was, "Oh, you have a used gun." I explained that it was brand new. He said ATF only cares about the # on the frame, blah, blah, blah. And they would be willing to give me all matching #'s if I sent it back to Smyrna-absolutely no charge. I said nope, I'll keep it. ;f

Notes - Tupperware serial matches frame, as do barrel (which has the pentagon mark) and slide. Tupperware says 'law enforcement sales only' but it's since been sold to another private person and ultimately to me today. I have no idea bout any fired shells or when this might have actually been made.
Please help me
I have:
3rd gen G19 serial CYYxxx
2.5 gen G26 serial CYExxx
3rd gen G20 serial CUCxxx
Can´t find the Birth date of my babies, they are NOT for the American Market and they have not the Smyrna Ga. Stamped on the frame.
Thanks
Rod

I have a Glock 17, serial number GF26x that is a second gen, but looking at the listing it is supposed to be 1st gen? Maybe the very first run of 2nd gen guns? All numbers match, Austrian proof marks on everything and came with two 17rd NDF mags. Pistol is in an easy 98%.

Post a picture.
Here is the pistol. After informing my gunshop that a number "7" was stamped inside the dustcover, they said I owed money because I didn't get charged more than one months pay. The infamous "Glock 7" at last! LMAO! This thing can't have had more than a box or two of ammo run through it. It is near new in all respects.

So would it be safe to assume this is an early run of the 2nd gen? Seems to have been built right at the cut off for the 1st gen. guns.
Any idea on the "7" stamp?

Looks like you got the first of the 2nd gens. There's a muddy line at that point.
Not sure on the "7". Perhaps Butch can chime in.

G23 with serial GZHXXX Born april 2005, 3rd gen, came with 2 hicaps. polygon after the serial on the barrel.
our division issues G19's.
we all got one's beginning with A--, mine is an AES ### and there were a lot of APE ###'s.
basically, when someone retires or leaves the division, the gun goes back to the armorer, gets detail stripped and if it checks out it gets reissued.

The online dating services don't go beyond the Dxx range and only for those imported into the USA. And since yours is in the Philipines, there's not cartridge collection envelope with a date on it. You'll have to contact Glock's home office, assuming they'll talk to end customers.
From the serial number range already listed:
FAD - G-23 - September 2002 - 3rd Gen.
FAF - G-26 - August 2002 - 2.5 Gen.
FAK - G-31 - Unknown - 3rd Gen.
FAL - G-23C - October 2002 - 3rd Gen.
FAV - G-17 - Unknown - 3rd Gen.
FAX - G-19 - September 2002 - 3rd Gen.
FAY - G-19 - Unknown - 3rd Gen.

Your serial number dates back to Sept-Oct 2002.

Good Day Sir!
Next to the Serial is the inscription "COR" and a pentagon or a five sided shape on the barrel label. Some GT'ers say it means 10/03(about teh time the barrel was test fired in Austria. I really don't know much, but I'm very happy with my G35. So far, so very good.

DVS - G-36 - July 2000
born on date according to TG.
The US designated United States. Glock, USA would put that on the frame serial number and did so for a short time. They have since stopped that practice.

I've had four Glocks.
The first was a Glock 19 purchased around 1988. The frame was a cut down 1st generation 17. I belive it was one of the first 19s. I sold it a couple years later and bought another 19 with a regular grip. I have the paperwork for but haven't found it yet. When I do I will post the numbers.
My G17 was purchased new in 1992 Serial YL
My second G19 had s# ZH . I bought it new in Jan of 93 so I assume it is probably a 1992 manufacture.
My G22 is a second gen, I traded the above 19 for it from a retired cop. I believe it was his service weapon. It has a CNA serial number.

Right, it was a blue label LE purchase. The sticker on the box refers to the model as G27-LE. I'm aware there are no inherent differences. ;)
The mags were standard [edit]9-rounders.

Just got a well-used G17 for $345 to give my new G23 some company. The G17 shoots nicely. It's a 2nd generation. What is confusing me is that the slide serial# is a CFXXX. That makes it 5/87. The frame is GXXX US. I can't find out anything about GXXX US. Perhaps the slide (or frame) are not an original match? Thanks.

G series is for replacement frames. Your serial number for the firearm is the G number. You should not show that in your post above. Edit it out. But you can date the original piece via the slide CF number.
http://www.glockfaq.com/markings.htm#replacement
edit to add: your G-17 would have had a 1st Gen frame if it had the original frame.

Larry, I've not seen any references on replacement part dating. You'll have to call Glock in Smyrna and ask them the specific history of this replacment. If the internals are "silver" and not dark coated, then you have the new parts. The upper, however, may require new parts. Glock can assist you in this determination. They may have it on record.

They look silver to me also. Butch will chime in and correct us both if we are in error.
I'd still contact Glock and ask regarding the frame replacement and ask about the slide parts to see if they have a record of this particular G-17 being worked on.

Problems? No, haven't you heard of GLOCK PERFECTION?
No, seriously, "HAS" is a very new serial number, in the July 2005 timeframe. On some recent Glocks, new owners have been freaking out about the "mold line" in the dust cover, thinking there is a "crack" in the receiver. This is a non-issue.
As an aside, let's try and keep to the topic of this thread. Reporting and recording Glock Serial Numbers, model numbers, manufacturing (or cartridge collection envelope) dates, and interesting characteristics.
If you have a specific concern regarding your Glock, ask a question in the General Glocking (http://www.glocktalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=19) forum!

SER# - BMZxxxUS
Model# - Glock 19
Date - August 1995 - 2nd Gen. (From TopGlock - 08/1995)
Gen - Gen 2
Notes - no test casing came with it, was told it used to be a police issue pistol, came with a 15+2 round magazine. (On tupperware box it has corresponding serial, and says 'used pistol' Rebuilt - 01/99 fxd 5lb)
Bought it in Oregon state, transferred to WA for registration, and own it in WA state, gun dealer no longer in business.
Note#2 Only magazine that jams in it is a 10 round magazine I bought added extra for it, seems the magazine doesnt like the pistol any, the 15+2 round works like a charm.
Question: I dont understand what is meant by a 'compensated gun'
And is mine an 'older gun' that is up for any 'recall'?

Change out the 2183 follower in the 10 round mag for a 9mm3 or 4 follower.
Compensated means there are holes in both the barrel and slide at the front of the barrel pointing up. These holes bleed off some of the pressure forcing the barrel and slide downwards to "compensate" for upward recoil pressures.
No "upgrades", IIRC.

My apologies for asking another question here, but I dont understand what you mean by a changing out of this 2183 follower for a 3 or 4 'follower' for the 10 rd magazine. Sorry I'm not as gun savvy as I wish I was. (is that the metal spring inside the magazine?)

Look at the empty 10 round mag from the top down where you insert the first round. See that plastic thingy that moves down when you press on it. That's called the follower. Look at it under a bright light. There should be some writing on it, a set of numbers. That's the model of the follower. G19 10 round mags that came stock with the 2183 followers are known to cause feeding problems for many G19 owners. Either don't use the mag or replace the follower with a newer design marked "9mm3" or "9mm4". You can buy them from a Glock Armorer or an online parts dealer. Or call Glock and send the mag to them and they will rebuild it for free.

ETR is the alpha prefix of your serial number.
EOK is the barrel proofing date code:
E = January
O = 0
K = 2
Meaning January '02 is the date your Glock barrel was pressure proofed.

Most call it a 2.5 gen (finger grooves, no rail), but our resident Glock expert says this is a misnomer because the subguns were first made during the Gen 3 period. I wonder now that the G30 can be had with rail if we shouldn't just all agree that the subguns without rail are 2.5 gen, like the true large frame 2.5 gen transition models.

According to the others in the list in the CBx range, I'd say it was made new in Oct/Nov 1996.
CBB - G-17 - January 1998
CBD - G-27 - October 1996 - 2.5 Gen.

I see a posting of an EPPXXXUS Date unknown G-23 Gen 3.
The 1EPPXXXUS I have is dated 1/17/2002 G-23 Gen 3 As you see the frame was changed out after it lost a rail.
Hope this is useful.
good job

Neat, but they were off on the date a touch according to the date code, maybe Smryna uses the import date?
Maybe a group of G17's with the same prefix from a police agency got refurbed complete with new frames?

Hi all !
I am new to this forum, and found it while I was doing some research on my .40, which turns out to be a rare piece.
I am trying to get a value on this gun.
It turns out to be a .40 with a 2nd gen frame, and a 4 letter serial.
Here are some photos.
Nice to find this forum!
I am still learning how to insert photos, sorry.
Neat, is it a G23? I believe it was made in December of 1996.

Butch, this guy had contacted me offboard. This is a really neat gun. I can't find a Gen 2, G-23 in the serial number list. Was such a Glock made in the general series?
Also, there's a Bell Helicopter engraved in the slide. Our new member is being modest with his picture postings here.

I THINK I saw one of these before, but I expect they're rather rare though, Scott doesn't list them on the GlockFaq 'rare and collectable' page.

FVV - G-17 - is 12/03?
TopGlock dates the G-21 as:
AMW - G-21 - September 1993
Sorry that I didn't under your listing.
Yeah 12-01-03 is the date given on the casing envelope that came with my G17 (FVVxxx) new.
And I dated my G21(AMWxxx) as Sept. 93.
Sorry for the confusion, I just noticed that when I added them the other day, I forgot to list the G17's date, and I see that the 21 is on the board already. I also see that FVV shows a 20-C, hmmm...
Edited: I went back and looked at the list, I see that the G20C that is under FVV is dated in 2005, hmm my G17 is FVVXXX and the casing envelope reads as follows...
GLOCK, Inc. 6000 Highlands Parkway, Smyrna, GA 30082
FFL#1-58-067-08-07-90327
GLOCK semi-automatic pistol with hexagonal rifling
Caliber9mm Cal Model: G17 Serial# FVVXXX

Do you think that maybe they typed the envelope wrong? Or perhaps the G20 post is wrong? Seems to be quite a conflict with the dates huh?

The "C" models don't seem to fit any rhyme or reason when it comes to dates. We'll post the dates as they are entered here! I'll occasionally ask for clarification when the dates and serial prefixes seem to be skewed from what is already posted.

Did you buy it new?
Did it come with the little brown envelope containing spent cartridges? Yes? What's the date on the envelope?
Otherwise, until you or someone else reports it, we won't have it listed.
It was likely made around December 2000.

Sorry, it didn't have the test rounds in the box....the Glock package of materials that comes with a new gun had published dates of 1999, so it's later than that and I'd say you were right on the 12/00 date.
Glock 21, 2nd gen # ADW, just purchased used, no idea of born on date. Just wondering if the frame is good on it or not?
