BTW: this is a good example where Glock releases alpha prefixes at random times. We already had a June LEL G-20 listed and now a Sept one. Not sure why Glock does this.

While this serial number is already listed, the born on date in the thread is listed as April 2003. My casing envelope is dated 03/24/2003. Hate to be a stickler, but if you are gonna be a bear, be a grizzly. I purchased this pistol new on 05/07/2003.

Has to be April/May/June 2007 timeframe based on the peers in the list. I listed yours since it was based in the Philippines. Always glad to get Glocks listed from out of the USA.

Just got a G-22 S/N KLT*** the site shows KLT - G-22 - December 2006 - - OD Green but the shoot cases have a Sep21 2006 stamp on it.

These were Hillsborough County Sheriff guns. They are green frames with Trijicon night sights and 3 mag's.

All are like new and shot very little if at all. The one I got still has the factory copper lube on it.

Lou's gun shop in Hialeah (Miami, FL) has them going out at $450.00. Cloud not resist and got one.

Yeah I noticed that also intersting.All of them Od Green I imagine they move slower than the traditional black.This is cool work you have done,glock should give you a spot on the side walk in New Smyrna lol.I can look at that list and see my old G31 last I saw it was still in the shop I traded it to.

I called Glock to ask when it was made and make sure there was no recall and they said March 2004 and that it was safe from the recall.

Do you think this just sat on the shelf for a few years before they got around to testing it?

The envelope in the box says, "Collected 8-25-07"

I posted before but since then noticed people mentioning when the two test fired cartridges were dated on the manila envelope.

We record the date on the envelope. That is when the pistol leaves the factory. It may have been manufactured/imported before then. Only a call to Glock will reveal that date. Glock must have a stock pile of these special models sitting around waiting for distributer orders. Thanks for posting. I recorded yours along with the original entry. I find these discontinuities in Glock serial numbers interesting.

Hard to tell. Too many "Unknowns" in the list. The "newer" ones seem to be the odd-ball models and are issued at dates out of line with the more mainstream models. I would put yours Nov/Oct 2000.

From what I've read, yes, EU Glocks have full Austrian markings plus the test fire code on the barrel.

Ok, as a side note, I purchased a G19 earlier this month and it has a alpha prefix of LML. My first one had a test fired date of Oct15th and my latest G19 had a test fire date of Oct 9th, so Glock must have just changed the alpha prefix during that week

There is no rhyme or reason to the order Glock uses in issuing alpha prefix and models. In general, they are increasing, but we have plenty of examples of current releases of much older prefix. Go figure.

A Gen 3 GLOCK 19 Bought in The Republic of Ireland, it bears the standard Austrian proof markings, and has of course the factory lanyard hole in the butt, and unlike in the USA theres no little brown envelope that has the test fires cartridge case.

I'd be curious to know a litte more about it myself

My New G20 10mm is Serial LDMXXX It is an all black model with Austrian proofs. Purchased Dec/07 in New Zealand. 2x 15 round mags.

It was imported direct from Glock in Austria via their Hong Kong office-then sent to NZ.
I notice it has the nitro proofs on the barrel and also the letters 'SOY' on it. So barrel tested May 07.

Also just looked at the G20 barrel I have spare- got it thru an online auction site. Guy had sold the G20 with another barrel in it .

Says LDW on the top of the barrel where the austrian proofs are, and serial number is SCXXX (so was imported into New Zealand also).

LDW = Feb 91

"SCxxx" is an odd serial number for a replacement barrel. Likely it came off another pistol. According to the Database an SC G-20 we have an unknown date G-20 listed, but the nearest G-20 is "UA" at Feb '91.

yeah thats what i meant, the barrel's original owner replaced it with another aftermarket item - thats how i got to having it. I was the person who gave you the SC serial which is listed in the first place.

Also- found my G19 (HFMXXX) has SOM on the barrel - so you can update that if you like too.

Early sub-compacts had a different surface BETWEEN the grooves than the current bunch. That's a variation the poster may have been referring to. I'm no expert so I will not state how they were different. Butch would know. BUTCH? Picture time!

Mine is a 26, purchased brand new last week but was interested to know exactly when the LLW range was produced...just curiousity mainly...was not given a brown envelope but I guess that is only in the US

What country? I'd like to list it even if the date is unknown.

Are there 3 alphabetic letters on the barrel? That's the test file date. We could list that.

Anyway, I bought it last week and I am very pleased so far. Changed over from G19 and am very happy about the size difference (altough I am still using the G19 magazine with an extension).

Anyway, let me know if you require anything further.

So no other letters on the barrel than the serial number? In Europe they put a date code when the barrel was proof fired. I wasn't sure if they do that outside of Europe. I recorded yours as:

I finally found a G-17 first Generations after missing a few at my local gun store.
Would you be so kind as to add it to the database along with a Gen 3 that I don't see listed either.

G-17 serial # CP XXX US shipped December 1987 and has Austrian proof marks. I called Glock to obtain the Date of Birth information. It is in really nice shape and I will post some pictures as soon as I pick up up from it's vacation at the gun store. It had no box or papers. Although I was told it was a Police Department trade in it doesn't have any PD markings that I could find. I paid $400.00 for it with two high cap magazines and snatched it up when I saw it!

Please add G-17 serial # GXL XXX US which shows on the test fired case envelope 3/2/2005. It does not have Austrian proof marks and it is a Gen 3. It does have original box and all the paper work, test fired case, lock.

I'll post some pictures of my of all of my Glock's soon. Are serial numbers not allowed to be posted on this website?

First off, Glock doesn't acknowledge any generations. That's a fan base invention. Secondly, generations tend to be a change that affects broadly across the various models.

The SF, at present, is just a 21 feature. Some have said that Glock will introduce a 30SF at the ShotShow coming up. Who knows.

The 21SF is a new model, not a generation. Just like the 17L is a different model. In my amateurish opinion, if Glock broadly applied the ambi mag release or a safety across all models, then we would call that a 4th generation frame (or some other broadly applied feature).

CSKxxx - G22 - no exact date, but off your list, Apr 98 - marked "Henrico Sheriff's Office" right side of slide, Austria on left - has Trijicon sights and NY #1, but I'm not sure if they were issued new with the gun or not

Update- I'm not sure if this was supposed to come with an LCI from the factory or not. It does not have one, but wether it was ordered and issued that way or the dept changed it is beyond me.

How do I go about contacting Glock to find out exactly what it was produced with? I'm pretty curious now.....

That is very odd, then. Only two states collect them. NY and Maryland. Yours should have had a little manila envelope containg two fired cartridge casings. Blazer brass, usually. Then we use the date of test fired on that envelope. Someone didn't give you all the paperwork. Assuming you are in the USA :)

Are you saying that there is no "AUSTRIA" listed on the frame? This means that Glock is now making the compact frames in the USA. Unless I've been asleep, this is the first time someone has reported this.

Can you post a picture of the frame with the Smyrna showing?
