I am looking at several makes of "red dot" sights. What are your opinions? I looked a C-more, BSA, Dr.Optics, and Hakko.
I talked with a Glock rep this weekend and he uses the Hakko.
I have a new G34 that I want to mount it on. I will use "The Accessories" mount. I may go to a compensated barrel later. I wonder how that would wear on the optics.
I am looking at a Lakes 4 or 6 slot compensated barrel. The slots exit through the cutout in the slide.
Any thoughts, advice?

My advice, Get a Carver mount. You can use any red dot you want on it, but why not buy the best? A barrel with ports that come through the slide cutout will get your red dot dirty with gunpowder. Bobby has a shield that is used for the C-More sight to prevent this.

I got a BSA 42 MM red dot sight as a gift, mounted it on my Ruger SRH .44 mag. It lasted 3 rounds and the front lens shattered.
Sent it back to BSA and they replaced it with a new one. Mounted that one on a .22 LR barrel for the Contender. Works fine there, but I wouldn't trust it on anything with more recoil than a .22.

Aim Point all the way. If its out of your budget, BSA makes a nice alternative.

I just posted on the accessories page about my ATN. I don't think there is a "best" for all purposes. I really like C-More sights, but I think they are best suited for handguns, since they have only one reticle, a 4 MOA dot. This is a little large for rifle shooting. Aimpoints are wonderfully sturdy.

I just ordered a new Carver "Hunter" mount. This new mount allow you to keep your stock/comp sights on the gun. So I can be back to "stock" in a short time. I added a C-more sight 6MOA that bolts directly to the mount.
I talked with Bobby Carver and he was very helpful. We determine what setup was best for my needs.
I should have them soon. I will post my observations and pics.
Thanks for everyones thoughts.
