I'm surprised that they are only showing that movie now in the Philippines. I was able to catch it about two months ago when I was on a provincial bus bound for Quezon City. Of course, the version I saw subtitled, and I had a hilarious time because of the translations of some of the subtitles... halatang pirata yung gumawa e.

My favorite glock movie is "Man on fire" which stars Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning. This is one 'tough-as-nails' movie.

Yes, I liked Man on Fire a lot, but given a choice between watching it and So Close a second time, I'd definitely watch So Close, in spite of the less than realistic combat scenes ;f

In an episode of 24's season 1, Jack bauer also used a glock when he rescued his wife and daughter from the ruthless terrorist who held them captive. I just dont understand why he's using what looks like a Taurus Pistol when he's a federal agent. From what i know, federal agent's prefer Glocks above any other kind of pistol.
but nevertheless, 24 is a very good, edge-of-your-seat t.v. series.

Yap. definitely one of the best movies Denzel ever made.

Revenge.....is a dish best served cold..

But I think that line is also from the movie Kill Bill.

Kill Bill borrowed that line from Star Trek. It's originally an old Klingon proverb

anybody seen LIFE AQUATIC with Bill Murray?, they have glocks as side arms.

that movie has also a bad publicity about Filipinos, there was a scene that their boat was hijacked by pirates, and guess what, the pirates are talking in tagalog and one crew member was communicating with one of the pirates because he knows how to speak tagalog/filipino. that crew member was then taken hostage. I think i know where the director get the idea of Filipinos as pirates and kidnappers.... Abu Sayaf Group! :)

I was only a bit interested in guns as a kid/young adult.

Somewhere along the way, the interest started growing. When I saw the movie Matrix: Reloaded, with Morpheus and his Glock 18 , it helped convince me to really get into shooting.

There's a nice site (http://www.madogre.com/Interviews/Guns_of_the_Matrix.htm), BTW, which "documents" what guns were used on the Matrix movies (among other movies).

Which reminds me...Ronin is another favorite. Their accomplice turned villain carried a long slide Glock.

Kill Bill borrowed that line from Star Trek. It's originally an old Klingon proverb

"La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid" from the play Les Liaisons Dangereuses (1782) by Pierre Ambroise Francois Choderios de LaClos. Of course, it is said to be taken from a much, much older proverb that had already manifested itself all across the world ---from the Pashtuns to the Sicilians to the Manchegos.

It could be an aftermarket Caspian slide or a stock glock slide that has been hardchromed.

it's a G17 with NP3 finish slide, but in real life miami pd use G22/G23 (iirc). usually in movies they use 9mms due to the unavailability of blank ammos on higher calibers.

Jack is using an HK USP. Since HK (along with Sig) won the DHS contract, portraying a federal agent carrying one is very plausible.

First movie I ever saw which showed Glocks was the first "Die Hard" movie of Bruce Willis. They even said the Glocks were "ceramic guns" which could pass through Airport X-ray systems without getting noticed, which started one of the myths about the then new Glock pistol.

The Tommy Lee Jones series - "The Fugitive" and "US Marshals". Tommy Lee and his marshals were using Glocks.

Arnold Shwarzenegger in "True Lies". Although the movie posters would show him with a Ruger, the first part of the movie shows him using a Glock 17 during the snow "ski" chase. I tried to count the number of shots he made during that sequence, he made 17 shots, before jumping into the van - pretty cool huh?

Actually, the Die Hard move you refer to is Die Hard 2.

Arnold seemed to carry a many different kinds of guns in that movie. Glock when under cover, Ruger when in a suit, and a Beretta 92 when in tac gear (when they grab Bill Paxton and have him by the cliff).

Look guys.....none of these movies about Glocks compare to The Fugitive. I rewind the part where Tommy Lee Jones shoots the glass at the courthouse/jail. He puts several rounds into the bulletproof glass, and you can see where those bullets would go. Not to mention the part in the tunnels. Remember when Dr. Kimball gets a hold on his Glock 17? Glock 19 comes out!!! Totally awesome!!!

Was it in the 1987 or the 1989 coup where there was a video footage of an individual or individuals with open guns shooting at an APC? I got a good laugh out of it, and weeks later, issuance of PTCs were stopped, but existing PTCs were valid until their expiry. (PTTs weren't still available during that time).
