Anybody been at the Armscor Cinema Square gunrange since it stopped being Northstar?

Has there been any improvement in the ventilation? Have been going to the other gunrange across the hall (Westpoint) in the last several weeks, as I found the (lack of) ventilation at Northstar unbearable. Liked the owners, but boy it was stuffy in there towards the end.

Went there monday last week(july 18) to check things out. Nothing much has changed except for the new staff, who I might add are more friendly as the previous secretary was so stingy with her smile(sama na ng mukha, sama pa disposition :)) They replaced my I.D. with one of Armscor's. Maybe its still too early and changes are on the way.

that's a good idea! maganda mag idpa sa indoor range kasi mas realistic ang scenarios!

Aba, lalong maganda :) sana matuloy. Very near where I stay when I'm in Makati, magagamit ko pa Glock 30 ko.

pssst... may restriction sa paggamit ng bull barrel on idpa - cdp division, better check out the new idpa rules posted at the idpa website; pati holster rule ngayon bago na, the approved holster list is a thing of the past.

Sana meron low light conditions na stage. Parang yung sa PB dati ginawa nilang parang night club yung setting. ;f

Just a simple question BOG's

What if i went to an indoor range in a mall in this case Northstar or whatever the new name is . Iam not a member. will the security personnel give me a hard time to bring in my boomer? or sabihin ko lang sa Northstar ang punta ko.

Thanks

There are so many gunstores and 2 shooting ranges in MCS and the guards there are so used to people bringing in guns. You may be stopped if you enter at the ground level main entrance or at Plaza Fair but so far it hasn't happened to me and you could just say you're going to the range in the basement. Just walk in like you're a regular and they don't usually check your things. I mostly enter thru the basement parking which is the best way as they don't check you anymore since that's where people going to the firing range and gun stores usually enter.

Just to let everyone know - those who haven't been there yet since its refurbishing -that the "new, improved" Northstar/Armscor gun range in the basement of Makati Cinema Square is much better than the old one.

Ventilation! Lights! Airconditioning! That thing that moves the targets back and forth actually works!

I guess I'll start shooting regularly again. And I won't be embarrassed to take guests there. Can pick up pirated porno/etc. DVDs in shops on the way out too.

Yup, ante's right. I was also there this afternoon to get my PTT's. Nice decor too :)

Do they allow the use of lead bullets for indoor shooting ranges? An indoor shooting range here prohibits the use of lead bullets. What they use is FMJ brass-enclosed base to prevent airborne lead.

They also strongly advise shooters to thoroughly wash their hands after shooting to prevent lead contamination.

Oh yeah. The reloads are lead-bullet types. That's why ventilation is very important - and in Northstar's previously nonventilated condition the air in there was surely a health hazard. Even now there must be some lead in the air, but less. Lead bullets in reloads is the normal practice. Sure would be better if the range were outdoors, but this is Makati.
