I have the option to get a CZ52 for $120.00 or a Glock G20 for $571.00. If I planned to use it for hunting, house defense, and just to have fun with, which one should i get.
P.S. What are ammo prices like for a 7.62x25?
Thanks in advance y'all

I think this should have been posted elsewhere but here is my take. If I wanted the most bang for the buck I would buy the CZ52. I have Internet friends that own CZ52s and they love them. The Glock 20 is a great pistol in an even greater caliber. If money were no object I would go for the G20. Regards, Richard :D

Thanks, so would it be a good idea to get the Glock and just wait to get the CZ-52?
Two very different animals. If you like mil-surp go for the CZ-52. If you want a gun with quality ammo availabe, go G20. You get what you pay for, and you get more quality, and more power with the G20.;c

Thanks, you may have just saved me from alot of frustration. I'll go with the G20 and wait to find another CZ52 later on.

I am not trying to advise you on which to get, but I have two CZ-52's and really like them. My opinion is they are a lot of gun for the money.
They are well built, except they do not take to being dry fired as the firing pin might break. You can get either original or aftermarket firing pins easily.
I do not have any experience with the G20 but as anyone who has ever shot the CZ-52 and the 7.62 X 25 round knows it is a potent round.
7.62x25 is a flea compared to the 10mm. And I have fired a CZ-52 hundreds of times. ;)

I think I'll buy the G20 right now, then after ive saved enough, buy a CZ because it seems like a good, accurate, and fun gun. Also, its not too strenous on my wallet.

Every collection should have at least one CZ52. They are inexpensive and the 7.62x25 is a high velocity round and a blast to shoot.
You asked about ammo. I get my 7.62x25 for about $9 per 50. The CZ52 is a blast at the range. It's a great conversation starter.
But I won't talk you out of the G20 either :)

Don't think so.
7,62x25 is hot stuff. Go take a look at the ballistics.
In any case, personally I do not like the CZ-52. I found it heavy, ungainly, extremely LOUD. If you ever fire one inside a house without ear protection, you are likely to loose an eardrum.

Thanks for everything y'all. The CZ52 sounds like a great gun to have, but first I want to get a G20. After I get it I'll save for the CZ. A CZ's ammo is much cheaper, so i could afford to shoot just for fun at the range. 10 mm is affordable...if you spend over $100.00 to buy in bulk. If anyone knows anything better, please help.
Thanks again for everything
Jimmy
Get the G20.
Later you can buy a 6-inch barrel for it for under $200 in 9X25 Dillon. Use same mags, recoil spring, and slide of course.
Then you can shoot 95gr bullets at 2000fps with Double-Tap ammo!

Here is a link to S&B 7.62x25 for $159/1000 plus shipping. No sales tax if you don't live in Ohio. It is brass cased, non-corrosive, new production ammo. It's not bad stuff.

have 2 cz52 and 2.5 g20 [2-g20 and 6" g21 10mm barrel]
both are fun, got one cz for 22reed express - 45gr @ 2700 beats fn57 and 224 boz specs
however my 180s [like doubletap] penetrate a k30 plate in witness 3.5" compact
best of all the worlds
If you have not bought the 20 yet, I would recommend buying a used 20 for 400 to 450 at the next gun show, and then get a cz52 at the same date, or later. Be patient and do some looking, it will pay off.

I have both and love them both. CZ-52's and G20's are both common, so i would just save up and get both at the same time.

SouthTexasrep,
the CZ52 is a very bad attempt to produce a gun for the same round as the russian TT-33. I know what I am saying. I come form Czech Republic. The egeneers knew already before they completly finished the gun that it wont the best gun in the world. But during the communism you had no right to express your opinion but you just had to follow the plan and keep you mouth shut. The CZ52 was like a bad nightmare for our military. Everyone hated them. Much hevyier recoil and much more defects then TT-33. I shot both guns. I own the TT-33 myself and I am very happy with it. But I would never rely on it with my life. It is just an old gun. For selfdefense I use G32. Most impressive on TT-33 is that here in Czech Rep. you can get the special military ammo for it(you can get it very cheap here) with steel bullets. They just got the new law here that prohibits the usage of the steel ammo by nonmilitary users because it shoots through the bullet prove vest and our mafia members like to use it... But for hunting it is a nice round...

I wouldn't use the CZ52 for hunting...
And the Glock 20 is a much more versatile firearm, and better for self defence as good bullets are available for it.
However, the CZ M52 is a nice service pistol, that is very accurate and very reliable(a nice side effect of the bottleneck cartridge). Easy to shoot, and extremely accurate out to long distances as the 7.62 tok is extremly flat shooting.
Not sure where Manner is coming from, but I've got well into 1200 rounds through mine with no issues. The ONLY major problem I have with it is IMHO the stock recoil spring is under powered. You need at least a 16.5#.
