Can anyone recommend a good overall history of the Revolution, along the lines of Battle Cry of Freedom for the Civil War?

However, as a preface to the Revolution in general, read,
Common Sense by Thomas Paine.
I got a nice little hard-bound edition printed by Barnes and Noble for their stores. Even with a 15pg. introduction, it's only about 80 pages long. I'm going to re-read now, since there's so much MEAT contained there.;P
Powerful stuff.;z

If you like mixing fiction with history, the entire series by Kennth Roberts is highly recommended:
Arundel
Rabble in Arms
Northwest Passage
Captain Caution
The Lively Lady
Oliver Wiswell
Lydia Bailey

I read a book called "George Washington's War" which was a good overall view of the war.
