just got off ammoman.com, 119$(includes shipping) for 500 rds. of 165gr speer gold dot, nickel cased(i thought most ammo is brass cased). What's the deal with nickel cased ammo and is this a good deal?;T

Nickel cases are less expensive, but they cannot be reloaded.

Some people think the nickle cases feed better in semi autos, which is their main attraction. The cases are still brass they are just plated. This plating is much harder then brass and tends to crack and split at the case mouth and take the brass with it, much sooner then brass alone. With full power reloads, I get 2-3 reloads, lighter loads will likely go farther. I really dont use it for reloading anymore, however, I believe ammo feeding is probably enhnaced with nickle case.

Georgia Arms canned heat is remanufactured/reloaded, correct? What is the difference between remanufactureed and reloaded?

they are nickle plated brass ok to reload just got to watch the nickel pealing off...dave

just got them from ammoman and shot some. good to go! $11.90 for 50 rds. of good hollow pt ammo seems to be a good deal. might have to "get some" more.;f
To answer the original question, yes, that is a good deal.
