So, besides $300, what's the difference between a Vertec 92G and a 92G Elite 1A?
The Elite IA has the Brigadier slide with forward serrations, "G" configuration, beveled magazine well, skeletonized hammer, and a stainless steel barrel.

What Rawny said....although the G configuration isn't a "difference" -- the 92G Vertec is a decocker-only model, too.
I have a 92G Vertec....and for $300 less they can keep the other differences. It's my most comfortable and best shooting (for me) gun. I'm using it now for USPSA production, even over the Glock 17 which is a favorite in the sport.
If you can get a line on a 92G, I'd go for it.

Doesn't the regular Vertec come with the beveled mag well? My 96 does.

My 92G Vertec doesn't have a beveled mag well. I've never compared it to an Elite to see how much difference there is. It probably would help my reloads a bit...but it's not the end of the world.
Gustavo, you might be correct about the beveled mag well on the Vertec. Shouldn't you know? You have one!
The 92G Vertec is only available from the LE catalog, so most civvies will need connections to obtain one. ;)

Thanks for your help, guys.
I found a 92G Elite 1A on gunbroker for what appears to be a pretty good deal. I should have it in about a week. I'll be sure to post some pics and a range report!

I got mine through Brad Taylor on the Beretta Forum. He's all the connection anybody needs...that man can get anything and everything Beretta! :)

This is the Vertec description on Berettausa.com
92FS Vertec
Derived from the famous 92FS, the new Vertec boasts numerous features to satisfy the needs of law enforcement and special operation military.
The new vertical grip design, special short reach trigger and thin dual textured grip panels guarantee a sure grip and maximum control during rapid fire, even for small handed shooters. An integral accessory rail is built into the frame to attach a variety of flashlights or laser aiming systems. The front sight is removable for the easy installation of different sights or tritium sights meanwhile the magazine well has been aggressively beveled for faster reloads . Manufactured also in the Inox version.

Okay....don't tell me wife I said these words, but I was wrong. The mag well is beveled....but I think they're a little generous with their use of the term "aggressively". It's so minimal that even when I went to look specifically for it, I didn't believe it. It was only after I compared it to my CZ that I could see the difference. It's beveled...slightly. I'll have to try a regular 92 now to see how much difference it really makes.
What advantage does the skeletonized hammer give? Is it just looks?
