View Full Version : G35 Barrel in a G22
I just picked up a G22 but I was wondering if I could get an extended barrel from say a G35 and put it in there? Has anybody done this?
Thanks
Brandon
It will work.
I haven't fired from this setup, but the G35 barrel will fit in the G22 slide. All other specs are the same for .40 cal.

It will work fine.
I fired my G22 with my G24 barrel in it at times and it's even longer than the G35 barrel.
Thanks for the info guys! That's exactly what I wanted to hear. If anybody has any pics of a setup like this I'd love to see them.
Thanks again,
Brandon

G26 with G19 barrel.

As time goes by, I am still amazed at the versatility of the Glock. In an emergency you can swap out barrels of the same caliber and have the gun work.
However, it non-emergency situations would there be any advantage to installing a longer barrel?
I know you gain a little velocity but I was under the impression that the biggest gain in accuracy of a longer barrel handgun was from the longer sight radius and not the barrel. This is especially true for the G26 with a G19 barrel. Neat trick, though!
Any thoughts?

You sum it up pretty well. Velocity is up but accuracy doesnt change. Looks kind of cool though. ;f

Wouldn't the higher velocity increase accuracy at longer ranges (i.e. making the bullet fly "flatter")?
Maybe at pistol-lengths it's a non-issue.

Thats what I was thinking.

You are correct on both issues.
1. What you gain in accuracy by increased velocity is offset by the loss of accuracy of the shorter sight radius.
2. At pistol-lengths, the lower velocity is less an issue.
Both are true. However, the more important issue is #1 and the sight radius.
