View Full Version : Glock 27
I owned a Glock 26 and sold it for the money.
I have a friend that would sell me his NIB Glock 27 for around $400.00
From the 9mm to .40 is there much more recoil and kick? I just don't want to be shocked when I fire that cannon. :)
I would like to have the .40 for added defense and carry.
I could rent a G27 from the indoor range here and try it out with 50 rounds.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
It'll have a little more bite, but most people don't find it too dramatically differnt. Recoil is subjective... different people experience it differently. If you can, try to rent a 27 to see what you think. Also note, the choice of ammunition can make a big difference in the same gun.
I will rent one. I hope they have a Pearce +1 extension on the mag. ;Q If I get the 27 it will need these like my 26 had.
If they dont even have a 26 I will rent the 23 for to compare. :)

Buy it you will not be sorry!
The 27 is a nice gun. I have a friend picking me up one tomorrow.
It does have some punch, but nothing unmanageable

With most loads the 27 will have a little more kick and push but nothing major you will definately enjoy shooting it. The first time i used mine i did get stratled a bit but after a few days and several hundred rounds its no problem i can shoot with either hand with ease. I also got a lot more accurate with it.

carry g27 in va. one of the best carry weapons there is. power and concealment is undenialable. if you can't do it with 10 rounds of .40(or any other round) you're in trouble!;c
G27 = small powerfull package
I love mine, it sees much carry in the warm months. I have shot my buddys 26, with +p ammo I don't feel it is much differnt than my 27. I simply like the width the .40 (or as I like to call it, the 10mm Special) offers over the 9mm

I had a G27 now I have a G26. The G27 with 165gr Speer Gold Dots did kick a good bit but was ok to shoot. I was never very accurate with it but then again I didn't shoot it that aften because I had a G22 that I cauld shoot well with and was convinced that the G27 was not for me. Now 5 years after I sold my G27 I purchased a G26 because my G31 is just to big to carry concealed in the Georgia summer heat. I purchased the G26 because I already know I did not care much for the G27 so I went with the 9mm after reading some post about how much easier it is to handle than the G27. I was sceptical at first but after I put 100 rounds down range I was convinced it is a better Gun than the G27. Less recoil and rearward push than the G27 and is so smooth I actualy enjoy shooting it and I plan on putting anouther 100 rounds through it today along with a few hundres through my G31.

I like the .40 but gave up on the sub compacts. They are just to small for me. :(

My brother in law is LEO in NE Georgia. He is fomer Ranger. He knows weapons, and how to use them. He is strong, 6'2" and about 210.
He carries the G22 on duty. Tried a G27 for BU. Chewed the living heck out of the web in his hand. Off duty he now carries a G26.
But this is about YOU. Go with what works for YOU.

I'd agree with shooting one to see how you do with it. Mine is more accurate than I'd expect such a small chunky pistol to be. And if you have a chance, compare it to a G23 as well- both are great.
