View Full Version : chip in rt rr insert on new G17
I just picked up this new G17, and it was made in June of this year. There is small chip in the middle of the right rear metal insert where the slide rides. It is noticeable when I run my fingernail over it. Is this something to be concerned with? Thx.

I wouldnt worry about it. I have a chip that looks like that on the rail of my G34, its a little smaller but hard to tell of course with the pick. I havent had any problems. If it really bugs you, talk to the Firearms Dealer that you bought it from and see what your next course of action can be. I dont think it posses any threat to functionability or longevity of the pistol. That just my thoughts on it but if your really worried about, might be worth checking in to, even to a glocksmith as well.
