Now with the purchase of a NIB blue Colt Delta Elite, I now have the same number of 10mm pistols as .45acp. I never thought that would happen, but...
10mm
Kimber Stainless Target
Glock 20
S&W 1006
Colt Delta Elite (blue)
The Delta wasn't exactly cheap, but it is new, and that's kind of hard to find these days. Won't be new for long!!!
;I
nice, you have the guns I want pretty much, damn you. ;f cept I love stainless guns, so id go for a DE in stainless.

I love the way stainless guns look, but at night, I prefer a blue/black gun.
why I like my G20, if im out at night with a gun its for some "work" the glock is definitely the gun for that......

Looks like you need a G29 for carry...and to tip the scale ;)
did you get one from Lewis Marlman? i just ordered one from him too, he said he had 6 of them.. i too wanted a new gun as this will be getting lots of use and i wanted the lowest possible mileage on the frame.. did you get yours yet? just overnighted the funds and FFL today so i'm hoping monday or tuesday.

PaleGreenHorse,
No compact for me. I am going to use my Kimber Target in my Milt Sparks VM2 - currently, I carry a .45acp in that holster (sometimes you don't want too much penetration). Or, I might carry my Glock 20 in a Don Hume IWB holster I picked up from Gunner's Alley for $23. And for those times when I need something REALLY small, I use my Kahr PM9 or my KelTec 32.
susan28,
I did order from Lewis. My deal with him is part cash part trade, so I am in the process of exchanging our paperwork before we ship to eachother.
Hi Ho Silver,
mine's due in tomorrow, i'll post my impressions here when i get it. Lewis seemed like a pretty upright guy, i have high hopes.
Silver:
It came today and it has been FIRED, has MULTIPLE scratches on the trigger, and a scratch under the slide release. carbon on the breechface, rings around the barrel muzzle.
winging its way back to albuquerque as we speak. a flat-out misrepresentation. i'm refraining from using the words "lie" or "fraud" in the remote possibility that he might have accidentally sent me one of his good-condition used guns, but only to spare myself the loss of faith in humanity. this gun is in good condition for used, but is in.. well.. USED condition for NEW...
beware.

Susan28,
Thanks for the heads up. I e-mailed Lewis to confirm that he is not going to send me the used Delta that you are sending back to him.
Unfortunately I already sent the cash part of our deal last week and sent my trade today (before reading this post).
I am pretty sure he has some NIB Deltas. He buys them off Gunbroker. I was outbid by him on a previous NIB Delta auction. Anyway, I will let you know how mine looks when I get it.
Thanks again.
well i spoke with Lewis on the phone last night and he confessed that he didn't examine them internally so as to avoid any scratching but had been sold them as NIB and is going to have a similar chat with his own source.
as mentioned before he'd struck me as a decent sort when we'd spoken pre-purchase and i was still holding out the benefit of the doubt and he did infact apologise profusely and offer a complete refund including postage.
i told him that if he would dissemble the remaining guns and could give me a reasonable assurance that they were unfired then i'd prefer a good gun to a refund so he's gonna look them over and get back to me.

I spoke with Lewis this morning on the phone. Bottom line is that he bought these guns as NIB (can be verified on Gunbroker). It appears that they might not actually be NIB, but instead, LNIB. Whether they were merely test fired or whether they were used periodically is unknown. That being the case, Lewis offered: 1) to return my money and my trade, 2) return my money and buy my trade, or 3) sell me the Delta at a reduced price. I chose to buy the Delta at a reduced price.
It is unfortunate that the previous owners sold these guns to Lewis as NIB when they were not quite that. He reasonably believed they were what they purported to be and sold them to us as such. But in the end, he made the transactions right for both of us, and that's what counts.
Lewis Marlman is a stand up honorable guy.
he called me back with the details of the one he had left and neither of us could really say for sure based on the appearance if it had been fired or merely racked/dry fired/handled a bit, but it sounded ok so he's sending it to me with a $100 refund for my trouble, so we're good.
agreed, Lewis is A-OK.
