I just ordered my first handgun, a Glock 22. I've been doing my research, but I just want to make sure of a few things. You can drop a G31 .357 sig barrel right in, factory or aftermarket, and shoot .357 sig. But for 9mm, you can't use a factory barrel, and may have to make other minor adjustments (in addition to the use of 9mm mags). Also, are the mags for the G22 and the G31 completely interchangeable with no problem, or do I have to buy seperate G22 and G31 mags if I want to shoot both .40 s&w and .357 sig? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
You are correct stating that a .357 barrel can be put into the G22 and shoot .357. No other changes have to be made. No need to swap mags or anything else. To shoot 9mm you need to buy a G22 9mm conversion barrel. It is also best to use 9mm mags - G17 mags in your case. Some people say you don't need 9mm mags but in my experience it's better to use them.
The .40 and .357 mags are completely interchangeable. There's no difference between them.
Hope this clears everything up.
