Thanks for your input and reply...... NitLion 08-10-2005, 17:38 I should have mentioned also that I own a box!! Bought it at a gun store in Pittsburgh. Not willing to give it up just so you can see it tho'. Like I mentioned, may not be in current production which would account for it not being listed on the web site. ( I have a box of Hornady 7.5 Swiss - and its not listed on their web-site either ) However, it does exist, just may be hard to find. MXRacer101 08-11-2005, 09:29 I use factory 125g Gold Dot’s, but would use about any JHP. With the velocity of the SIG round, they all are going to be effective. I may try some 147g since they work well in baby sigs calibers. spcwes 08-15-2005, 13:12 There will be a few custom loads in 115gr Gold Dot and 147Gr Gold Dot that you can consider hot soon from some of our favorite companies. I would venture to guess that the 115gr load will pass 1600fps and the 147gr will probably get 1300fps or better and these speeds will probably be clocked from a G32 4" barrel. I think the 115gr would be a bad ***** CCW load. And well the 147gr bullet from the 9X25 went over 18" in the gel so one running over 400fps faster than the die hard 9mm fans 147gr bullet with the exact same bullet should hopefully shut them up. If it does not then you will at least know who you’re talking to. To all that posted to xd>glock2me's request for some good 357SIG CARRY LOADS with off caliber answers, man, get a life, your 9mm is not the best load for every person that carries a gun and never will be. There is only so much you can do with it and nothing more. spcwes 08-16-2005, 10:10 From Mike at DT Tested from a Glock 32 with the 4" barrel: All of these tests were done using 10% ballistic gelatin provided by Vyse gelatin using all FBI protocols and 4 layers of denim and two layers of light cotton T-shirt in front of the gelatin. DoubleTap .357 Sig 125gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1450fps - 14.5" / .66" I probably do not want to show these numbers to the die hard 147gr 9mm fans because it may hurt their feelings but hey, if the truth hurts buy a 357sig. That test shows that it surpasses a 9mm 147gr loading with the 125gr loading and the 147gr 357sig load is out next month. WOW MrBruceWayne 08-16-2005, 13:03 Hornady, come to think of it, all of the JHP's are from Hornady...with the sole exception of my P220....CorBon spcwes 08-16-2005, 13:28 Yea, Hornady has a 147gr XTP load for the 357sig that pushes the bullet 350fps or so faster than the 9mm offering so it would probably be a good load. I think it is running around 1250fps or close. The new 147gr 357sig from Double Tap will be in the neighborhood of 1350fps or so from a 4" barrel if I had to guess. I would love to see it break 1400fps but we will have to see. yotecaller 08-18-2005, 21:09 Another one for 125 Grain GoldDots.;z DonGlock26 08-19-2005, 08:15 125gr Golddots for me. MrJinx 08-19-2005, 13:19 Federal Premium 125gr jhp. It is all the shop had. Just switch to .357 sig from 40 s&w yesterday. Will probably order from Double Tap based on the love it gets here. This may be a dumb question but will the bullestics of the .357 sig be the same with my G27 with sig barrel -vs- a G33? spcwes 08-19-2005, 13:35 It should be. It technically will be the same gun if I am not mistaken. And your choice to go with Double Tap is a good one, you will not regret it. Good Luck MrJinx 08-19-2005, 15:20 Spcwes, Do you know (as talked about in other threads) when double tap will have the 147 gr sig and the 115 gr sig? Also do you know if they have expandable FMJ or if all the self defense rounds are JHP? Thanks!!!!!!!!! spcwes 08-19-2005, 15:40 The 115gr and the 147gr should be out around the first week in Sept. Most of the bullets I have seen for the Double Tap line have been mosty Gold Dots and a few GS. I don't think you can get EFM I may be wrong for reloading purposes. I would like to see some of the Barnes X copper bullets myself because of the bullets performance and the lighter loadings = more speed. Hope this helps. SIGShooter 08-20-2005, 10:26 Dropped the Rangers. I'm staying with the WWB 125 Gr. JHP. I'm so tired of looking for that "perfect" round. I should have kept the same ammo and never changed. Not too mention testing the ammo for function purposes gets frickin expensive. I spend about 130.00 on a case of WWB and I can shoot 400 rounds and keep 100 for carry. (Rotation Purposes) Plus I shoot a lot. I'd rather spend the extra money on a new gun or holsters or parts when needed. The WWB has never failed me (Knock on wood). I've fired about 20,000 rounds (rough estimate) of the WWB and never had a failure in any pistol. SIG P229, 239, G31,32,33. I have had failures with others though. Of course this is all just my opinion and my choice and I'm just ranting about the "perfect" ammo thing. G33 08-20-2005, 11:49 I use Double Tap ammo now. Also have used Gold Dot Speer. If you need a hunting bullet, the Hornady XTP would work for small stuff. redskyzatknight 08-24-2005, 12:47 357 auto is light and fast. IMO, if you want to shoot a .355 147, go up to a 155 or 165 40 or 10mm. The good ole' boring 125 seems to be the best option for the round, as it was designed around it. I'd be more tempted to go lighter and faster if the bullets are bonded. BTW, I am back shooting 357 auto after a long break. I feel just as confident carrying my 32 or 29. I use 125 GD and 155 & 165 GD by DT respectively. After shooting and testing Gold Dots, I would'nt consider another bullet. Sometimes you just want to push more weight if needed, so the 29 is nice for those days. bunkerbuster 08-25-2005, 23:51 Originally posted by gncc600 Corbons me too bac1023 08-26-2005, 03:56 Right now, I have Corbon 115gr JHP in my G33. I'm looking forward to DoubleTap's 115gr loading. SIGShooter 08-29-2005, 09:37 A little off the subject... Went to the range the other day and did a little informal testing with the G31,32,33. I had used the last of the Rangers and Cor-Bon and my current carry load WWB 125 Gr. JHP. (All were 125 Gr.) I never thought shooting at water jugs could be so much fun!!! The Cor-Bon and WWB loads acted pretty much the same. However the WWB out of the G33 stayed togethter better than the Cor-Bon. The Rangers... OUCH!!! Would not like to be on the receiving end of those. All stayed together and all expanded evenly. If you could, tell me how to post pictures and I will do so. As not to bring shame to the .357 SIG club... I tested some Hydra-Shok .45 ACP 230 Gr. out of the SA Micro-compact... My wife now carries FMJ. Total jacket seperation. No expansion. Very little penetration. The FMJ punched through 4.5 jugs. spcwes 08-29-2005, 09:47 Yea, I have seen the HS fail as well not just on jugs. I will not use a HS in any caliber but some will continue. I have pretty much switched to Gold Dot across the board but still have a soft spot for Ranger T ammo even though it is not bonded, it seems to hold together very well. Man, it may not do much or any more damage than a normal fully expanded HP but they look mean! My 3rd test since I put my gel together was a 230gr +p Ranger T 45ACP and it was and is still the meanest looking HP I have tested. Gregw/aGlock 09-03-2005, 15:46 I'm playing around with 100gr Pow'R Ball right now. Seems like a good PD round to me so far; however, I also use 125gr Gold Dots.... Greg W 09-04-2005, 16:09 I prefer Double Tap 125 Grain with the Gold Dot HP.
