Just how vital is it that the end of the trigger bar cruciform (sear?) has "proper" engagement with the firing pin lug? I read somewhere it should have at least 2/3 engagement at this point. If it's not really a vital safety issue, does it have more to do with trigger pull and how the trigger "breaks"? And also, can you pretty much tell how solid this engagement is from how the trigger pulls and feels? I don't have one of those orange slide plate covers or a cut down one to use to actually get a visual. My pistol has about 1600 rounds through it and no problems so far. I'm just a curious newbie and eager to learn. Thoughts?
