View Full Version : M-Pro 7 CLP or Hoppes/Rem Oil ?
I have always used Hoppes solvent and Rem oil on my G26. I decided to try M-Pro 7 on another (high maintenence) weapon and it is working much better than the Hoppes/Rem combo. Should I also use it for my G26? I am leery of changing since the Hoppes/Rem has been working fine for the Glock.

I have been using M-Pro7 for about 2 years now on all of my guns. Like it a lot better than any other brands out there. My wife don't complain about the smell any more either. For the Rem oil some were I have read that it is not that great of an oil. TW25B, Mil-tec and Gun Butter are a lot better choice's for lube. You well here a lot about Mobil 1 as a lube, I don't care for it and either does the people from Glock.
I have switched to M-Pro 7 and Gun Butter combo. The M-Pro 7 is the best IMHO and Gun Butter is unbeatable hands down for lubrication.

I use same combo, yet I use M-Pro 7 dip application for detail strip.

PaulBK,
Personally I use MP-Pro7 for all my guns but what you use is fine so as long as you happy were happy.

Sure use it. Any quality oil should work fine with the correct application.
I personally use Rem Oil, Breakfree CLP, and Marvel Mystery Oil as mild cleaners and preservatives. For lubrication I have been using FP-10 exclusively as my primary gun oil and Militec-1 for all grease applications (I cut the grease with oil to get a desired viscosity for my application and/or environmental conditions).
Oil preferences are like guns and women. Everyone has their own personal favorite.

Yep, M-pro or Hoppes Elite (same stuff) works well for most fouling. Not great on copper though. That's why every few hundreds rounds I use something a little more powerful with a good brushing. Something like Shooters Choice, etc...
I use Militec to lube. Been using it for years. Very good, slick stuff. Never had a malfunction while using it (includes AR's, etc....). A little goes a long way (economical).

I'm sold on MP-7. Hoops was my favorite for 18+ years. Love MP-7 and it is the only thing I use now. Great Product!
I sent a bottle of this stuff to my nephew in Iraq and he thought it was great, especially after a hard days work of wacking bad guys.
It is not approved by Uncle Sam but so far the stuff works and was reliable.

M-Pro is the best stuff works on everything from glocks to 1911 to rifles you name it. Keep it away from sights with the white painted dots it may take it off I have heard.
As for oil I say Miltec-1 oil/grease works GREAT but I mixed up some mobil 1 or GTX with some lucas oil stabilazer works just as good if not better and cheaper for as much as you can make.
