View Full Version : Glock 29 problem-frame crack
Hi, everyone.
I was cleaning my G29 today when I noticed a small crack in the frame directly below the muzzle.
This kind of makes me mad because it's a fairly new gun. I've only put about 600 rounds through it. I bought it new and sent the warranty card in. Should I contact Glock directly and get it repaired? I assume it's under warranty. I haven't been shooting reloads or anything through it.
Thanks!!

Are you sure its a crack, and not just the mold lines that run right down the center of the polymer?
If it is really a crack, contack Glock at 1-770-432-1202 and ask for the Warranty Service Department.

No, it's definitely a crack. You can see daylight through it.
Could you post a picture of it?

It's on its way to Smyrna. It was about a 1/4 inch long. I could stick a piece of paper into it and it would hang on the end of the muzzle. Why it cracked after only 600 shots is beyond me. Hopefully it was just a fluke.
:soap:
And why would it crack in such a low-stress locale...interesting.
They'll have it back to you in a jiffy.
PS. I'm sure it wasn't the handloads...these Glocks will digest the hottest Norma 10mm ammo all day long with no problems, and that stuff is right on the edge of the SAAMI max pressure envelope.
Your ammo, if it was at all safe, can't be to blame and I am sure Gaston will make it right with you very soon.

The original Norma 10mm ammo was made before there was a SAAMI spec for 10mm.It was infact hotter than what SAAMI now specs for 10mm.I think Glock changed the way the serial number plate is attached to G-29's and G-30's due to cracking in that area.
