View Full Version : Anyone CCW their G20?

I'm starting to think that the 10mm might be the ideal cartridge for my defensive needs. However, the G20 is a fairly large gun and I was wondering if anyone here uses it as their CCW. I know that the G29 is a little smaller, but it's too small for my hand. I can conceal my G17 fine under a t-shirt...should the G20 be much more difficult?

I carry mine when my attire permits. It is easier to carry than my L frame Smith. Carrying sixteen rounds of 10mm, in what is one of the most accurate semi-auto pistol that I have shot, just makes you feel safe. But most of the time it stays at home unless I am wearing a winter coat.

I think glock made a huge mistake in not producing a compact 10mm.
I'd buy one.

I use to carry mine quite a bit. I lived in Texas when I was carrying, so it was hot almost year round. I use to wear a white cotton tank top tucked in for padding the back, and then a semi loose polo or button up shirt with my G20 in the small of the back (between the two shirts). I like my delta better for summer carry, but never liked sweating on it, so it was usually the g20. I never got any funny looks or asked if I was carrying.
I have a friend that carries a G21 in a FIST kydex inside the waistband clip holster on a daily basis. It conceals very easily under a Hawaiian shirt. I might start doing the same with my G20. I've tried his out, and it is very comfortable and does not print at all.
Yes, IWB or OWB. T-shirts, tucked or untucked, dress shirts, sweaters, etc.

Yeah, I carry the G20 daily.
I just got back from an errand, and I'm wearing it right now. Khaki cargo shorts and a slightly large black t-shirt. C-TAC, 3:00 IWB.
Remember, the G20 is large for a Glock but small for a handgun...

Everyday, learn how to move with the weapon and it won't print at all. Also dress around the gun and its no problem.
Yup! If you can conceal a G17 you can conceal a G20 too.

I just bought an IWB holster for my Glock 20/21. At $23, I figured it was worth a try.

I keep mine with me at all times, but not on me. I use smaller weapons like a G32, Kahr PM9, CZ PCR or 1911 Commanders for carry.
My G20 is currently a truck gun.

Keep the same caliber and get something that conceals well and feels great = Glock 23

I carry mine OWB, with an untucked tank top. Nobody gives a second look.

I have been giving it great consideration for winter carry, I can't see it being a problem in winter clothes for me.

I carry mine in an Alessi CQC-S sometimes. Most of the time I carry one of my 70's Colt LW Commanders in a Sparks Summer Special, though.
If you dress around the weapon you will be fine. I normally get my pants and shorts about 2" to big because I always have a weapon on me if not 2. I normally carry a Glock 21 everywhere except swimming. I am wearing a pair of jean cargo shorts right now with a light tee-shirt tucked in and a larger tee-shirt over with no print or discomfort.
Right now, I am wearing a uncle mikes sidekick soft clip IWB. It works just fine and the light tee-shirt is to keep the weapon from rubbing.
Dress the part and you will be fine.

I carry my G20 CCW everywhere except when I'm actually in the office...and then it's a G36. Ever since I was in a store during a robbery and beat down of the cashier, carrying 18 rounds of 10mm ammo makes me feel very warm and fuzzy.

I carry my G20 in a SmartCarry concealed holster. Have not had any problems and can wear it with anything (short of going in the water).
I have tried Unca Mike and Bianchi, and also use a Kydex, but the Smart carry has been a boon during these hot summer days.
Take a look...http://www.smartcarry.com/

It gets hot in Arizona (100F in the high country today) and I CCW every day. Shorts, t-shirts and Bianchi Model 7 with forward tilt. For IWB I find the thinner Colt M1991 more comfortable to carry - like with tuck in shirt. I'm 6'0" and 225lbs so the t-shirts tend to hang out from my waist. This is a very fast rig for me, even when seated in chair or p/u with seat belt fastened.
I've used Smart Carry with M1991, but access is simply too slow compared to the Bianchi set-up.
Adios,
Bob
I have been using my smartcarry with my G20 and a spare magazine for about a year. I absolutely love it. I have to have my shirt tucked in at work and no one has ever noticed that I have 31 rds of Winchester silvertip and a G20. When I am out running around where I am going into really bad areas I carry my Colt 1911A1 IWB as well as its quicker to draw it.
