Hi all,
I am trying to get some opinions if anyone has tried the lighter factory triggers in a G20. I am wanting the better triggers for IDPA. Mostly what I can tell is that the overtravel isn't as bad with the upgraded triggers.
However, I am new to using the G20 in IDPA (and glocks in general for IDPA). From what I have seen of glocks at IDPA is the ones where people screw around with them, especially when they put in the lighter striker spring, is that they don't always go boom. Having a round not go boom, is a time killer. The stock ones always seem to work flawlessly.
Here is what I am worried about: I don't want a competition only pistol. I want to be able to have a 10mm that functions 100% of the time (or so damn near that numberthat I can't tell) and that will light off DT loads (which I assume have magnum primers that need a good wack to ignite). I would like to have a better trigger if the previous condition can be met.
I am thinking of one of the two options:
The competition trigger spring and the 3.5lb connector.
I could also use the NY1 trigger spring and the 3.5lb connector and it is my inderstanding that the trigger will still be around 5lbs. Is this correct? This combination is supposed to be good for quicker trigger reset and for actual carry.
Does anyone have any experience with these combinations and how they work in the real world and in IDPA?
I think that going with a 4lb striker spring would be getting into where I don't want to go.
Thanks for any opinions/advice/flames.
