Gentlemen;
I have a G20 that has been giving me some problems. Occasionally, not often, but occasionally, I will pull the trigger and will get what feels like a misfire or light strike. The striker feels like it falls, but the pistol won't fire. When the round is ejected, the firing pin is unmarked. This has happened with three different bands of factory ammo and some CCI-primered handloads. Any suggestions? It has a 3.5 pound factory disconnector.

Does it have the stock striker spring? Have you checked for any oil or dirt in the sticker pin channel? Is the tip of the striker pin chipped or broken? Answeres to these questions could eliminate some possibilities.

To the best of my knowledge, it has a stock striker spring. The striker channel is clean and clear. The striker tip is not chipped or broken. This is a G20 Longslide based on the longslides marketed by Glockmeister and Bar-Sto.
Let us know what Barsto and Glockmeister have to say about problem resolution after you talk with them.

The obvious candidate seems to be the striker spring yet I would think you would get at least some sort of dent or indication of a light strike. The fact you're left with a completely unmarked primer is puzzling. If the issue was with the striker itself, I would think it would be a regular issue rather than a very occasional one. Try to remember, does it happen completely randomly or always on the first/last shot etc.?

Another item that just might be the problem is the striker itself. You might take the striker out and look very close along the front section for a burr. My G37 had this problem at one of the matches and along the front 1/3 of the striker is a small groove and along that groove the Glock Armor at the match fround a very small bur that was intermittently keeping the striker from full travel. He replaced the striker and I have not had a problem since. My son-in-law found the same thing on his and used a very small file and smoothed the bur and his has worked flawlessly since.You have to look very closely along the groove but that could be the problem.

also check to see that the slide is going fully forward, you could also have a weak recoil spring and because your gun is firing out of battery, could be causing your problem.
