my first makarov [Archive]

ok,i traded a surefire z2 combat light for a makarov today. came with 2 holsters, 2 mags, and about 100 rds of ammo.
its from bulgaria, and looks brand new.
anything i should know about these things?

I do not know what a "surefire z2 combat light" is, but the Mak is a fine piece, which goes for about $140 - $195 retail. There are miltary and commercial versions. Without a pic, it is hard to tell which you have.
Either is very reliable.

it says "makarov made in bulgaria"
"cal 9x18mm"
"c.a.i. georgia vt."
"nk 25-2715"
and has a 10 circled twice.

the 10 with circles I believe means it's a bulgie (I can't remeber, all I know is a star means russian).

Ok - so how do you tell when it was made? I too have a Bulgy Mak but am unsure of the date of mfg.

I get "E" alot, but I don't care about that because that "e" is there because my first name starts with "e".

I hate when people try to actually say it like its spelled. I get that all the time on SOCOM on the PS2. It has a headset dealy so you can talk to each other. I get "hey..... ep..... sa.... lum...., look out GRENADE!...... too late"

i have an xbox but i dont play online games. i used to play counter strike online, among other games. i used to love to play those online shooters.
they are so much fun.
im going to get some different grips and several mags for this thing, as well as a case of ammo.

I would suggest the pearce grips. Mine came with them on already and I think they feel great.

The only thing I dislike about the mak is the teeny tiny sights. If I had the cash I would send it to a gunsmith and have them cut for 1911 dovetail type sights. Then I could put almost any type of sight I wanted on them.
