View Full Version : Bar-Sto's G20 chamber support question

Fully supported or not? Is Bar-Sto's claim true?
Some say that there is no such thing as a fully supported chamber on a Glock. I have a Bar-Sto Match on order and will be extremely disappointed if the chamber is not fully supported.
Anyone have pictures of their Bar-Sto with a round in it? This would end all arguments.

This question was answered in another thread. Thanks in advance.

I just got my fitted barsto back from them a week or so ago and i'll snap some photos tonight if you'd like, after work.
as I recall, the chamber support is EXCELLENT, even moreso than the several kkm's i've owned in the past few years.
its true, though. technically, no barrel has FULL support but barsto has the most.
ill post later...

I think as long as it’s near 100%, I’ll have no problems with it. BTW, how long did it take Bar-Sto to deliver your barrel? I’m still awaiting my “In Stock” barrel. I may consider sending my slide to them for fitting too.

That looks near 100% to me. I would be happy with that.

I gave up after six+ weeks!!! Cancelled my order, and ordered a KKM from Glockmeister in which I received in two days. Barsto even said it was in stock when ordering it off there website. You need to call and double check!
Any aftermarket barrel is a hundred times better than the Stock Glock barrel when it comes to reusing brass fired in NUCLEAR MODE :)
BTW: My stock length KKM's dropped right in my G20 & G29...

I did and received the 4-6 weeks reply several weeks ago. I pointed out that the website states that they are currently in stock. I guess they never update that site. I did ask if either the semi-drop in or match where in stock. Nope, so I elected for the match barrel and will pay my local smith to fit it for me. I am probably paying too much, but Bar-Sto’s have been the SHT in 1911’s for years, so I am hoping for similar results in a G20.
I’m chomping at the bit to get this puppy. In the meantime my attention is on a Dillon 550B or a 650 purchase to feed it this thing. This is has been long overdue and the 10mm has finally pushed me into it the purchase.

I was shocked when I purchased the G20. I took it straight home and field stripped it to check its chamber support. I was very disappointed when I compared it to my stock G32’s support. I ordered the Bar-Sto immediately and even without firing it. I just couldn’t see brass surviving that chamber and be safe for me since I’ll be a complete reloading NooB. I don’t need to be messing with bulged brass without experience in such matters.

MX, this pic probably doesnt help due to my only having a camera on my phone, but here you go anyways.
Barrel on left is my 6" fitted Barsto 10mm bbl.
Barrel on right is my stock G20 bbl.

KKM and Bar-sto are not equal imo. Functionally they are pretty much the same but I have experienced much better accuracy with Bar-sto than KKM, Lonewolf or Federal barrels.
It only took three weeks to get my Bar-Sto G-20 barrel, and it was worth the wait. My drop-in had a virtual match fit. The groups were much tighter and the workmanship was outstanding. My friend who was a machinist said it was beautiful work. The brass has no bulge in it , and you can see the marks all around the case where it formed to the chamber. It was worth the wait and the price.

Thanks, it’s blurry, but I can still see the difference. I will wait it out for the Bar-Sto.

Congrats… That has been my experience with them and 1911’s. When I shoot out, or am disappointed with a barrel, it will always get a Bar-Sto replacement.
