View Full Version : 29 with rail
I went to look at a 27 for ccw to replace my 19. I like to shoot the 19, but don't like to carry the 9 for my own reasons. Anyway, the 27 didn't feel much different in size to me, so I'm thinking, maybe I need to try a 29 or 30. The man behind the counter let me see a new 29 with rail, and it fit my 21 holster very well. The size was about like the 19, which I carry without any problems, and the added thickness not much of an issue to me. This is what I need! Then I went to look at the ammo....hmmmmmm. 20.00 for a box of blazer?! And why can they get 10 in the 30 and only 10 in thee 29? I am assuuming aftermarket barrels in .40 and .357 sig are available. Is that true?

To save money on ammo, don't buy it at the range. Go to Georgia Arms or Double Tap for your practice ammo. The 30's magazine sticks out farther than the 29 in order to accomodate (sp?) 10 rounds of .45 ACP. So the 29 is actually more compact in the grip area than the 30, which helps in concealment in my opinion. Yes there are aftermarket barrels available. All of this has been posted, is the search feature not working?
