View Full Version : G20 Questions- look at these fotos, can U help identify?
This part (excuse my ignorance with Glock parts, I know it's blasphemy...) on my slide behind the ejection port. I bought this gun used, and it seems like it is always "pushed in". This is different than my G32. It also has some modifications on it, wondered if anyone can identify any of these aftermarket parts... I know it's difficult with fotos, but if you can great, if not thanks for looking!!!
Can't seem to post more than 1 foto at a time...
Last foto... Thanks 4 bearing with me.

first pic, at first glance, looks like you are either
1) using the wrong extractor,
2) don't have a spring loaded bearing installed (old style) or
3) are missing an extractor plunger
By the looks of the pic, it may also be that there is something up with the installation of you firing pin safety.
WIthout more pics its hard to tell but it definitely looks wrong.

RU,
Something is not installed correctly somewhere.
Go here (http://www.glockfaq.com/maintenance.htm#dis) (click on here for link) and completely disassemble then reassemble everything.
Where in Fl are you located?
I guess the best option is speaking with a glock armorer at one of the local gun shows down here...
Thanks for the help.

Dood,
Really try this yourself, Glocks are very simple to take apart and put back together. They even have pics on the link. If you can remove the extractor (thing that looks pushed in) and read teh number off of it. We can tell you if it is the correct one or not.
Where's Walter when we need him!!!;Q
here's my 2cts opinion
photo ending 43
etxractor looks like it has no plunger behind it or just plain installed wrong or with wrong parts. That extractor claw should just about flush

Scratching my head on this one too dark to tell. BUT see the above. I think you had some inexperience owner trying to work on the gun. Eith way it's easy to fix and if any thing is needed new, it would be cheap to fix or free at a GSSF shoot if the armor has the parts
In a nutshell G20man is right the glock design ( all models ) is one of the simplest firearm to work on and fix.
Where are you at in FL. If you are deep south Florida between Broward +dade county i will come by and fix it for you ;)
G22Man and noway,
Thanks for the link and the info. I will definitely try this myself. I replied first to NickE before I saw G20Man's post. I appreciate the help, and I will try disassembling this thing right now... I'll update you guys on what I find. Thanks again,
RUDUN
That was REAL simple. I took it apart, and removed the extractor, it seems it is too short. It won't lock in until it is in that far. Is it dangerous to fire like this? And is if fairly simple to find the correct extractor for the G20?
Oh, I forgot to mention in the previous reply- I am located in Sarasota, about 1 hour south of Tampa.
Thanks again for the helpful replies.
I forgot to mention. I couldn't find a number on the claw extractor anywhere.

Sorry about the stock numbers RU, I just looked at both of mine and couldn't find a number either. What I can do is measure the extractor from the drum looking part to the side that faces outward on the slide. Should be just shy of 1/2 an inch, calipers say .490 if you have some.
I have outlined the area to measure in red.

Or you can shoot 5532jwk an email as he is a stocking dealer for parts. His name is Jerry and he is in Jacksonville, I believe. SUPER nice guy and if you contact him today he will probably mail you the proper extractor tomm for a couple of bucks. I don't remember what I paid for mine from but it was less than $20 for sure and he covers shipping.
Good Luck
Mike
G20man,
Once again, thanks. I will email him tonight and see what he's got. As far as measurements, I know I have a micrometer around here, but finding it is the thing. I will try to measure it tonight. I appreciate all your help. This has been a great forum to learn from.
