My 35, used for IPSC and carry:

THE extended tungsten rod
15 lbs ISMI recoil spring
Polished trigger assemby
4 lbs reduced firing pin spring
Firing pin tab angled cut at 45 degress to reduce contact
Trigger stop(made my own)
Seatle Slug
THE mag release
Hienie rear and Tritium front
Tightened slide rails at the rear

Trigger pull is at 2.75 lbs smooth. What do you have with yours?

On my new 17L I removed the extended mag release and 3.5 pound connector and replaced them with standard items. My best trigger job yet and a set of Heinie straight eight nights sight are the finishing touches.
I'm now on my second case of Winchester USA 147 grain fmj-fp ammo. The 17L shoots them like laser beams.
I'm going to add the extended tungstun recoil guide rod.

Glock 35

JP Magwell
KKM Barrel
Heinie rear with Dawson FO front
Lightning Strike guide rod with 15 lb. spring
2.5 lb. trigger

I use my 35 for indoor matches where the shots are not as long. SHe shoots good.

Glock 24

Hard Chromed Caspian slide
KKM Barrel
THE Brass magwell
Lightning Strike Guide rod with 15 lb. spring
Heinie rear with Dawson FO front
2.5 lb. trigger

This is my outdoor match/steel gun. It makes those long shots much easier. A real blast to shoot.

My 35 appears to be stock except low-profile ramped Ameriglo night sights, and a hard chromed slide and barrel.

Its my first Glock, be gentle.

Do you think a extended tungstun recoil guide rod is better than a Harrts? The reason I ask is because I am torn between the two. Thanks!!!

Ohh, by the way, it will be used in a Generation III G17L.

Don't have experience with Harts recoil rod, Mercury filled right? Don't know of anyone using in my group to compare. The advantage of Tungsten is the weight which keep the muzzle down. I have the Seattle Slug for more weight and fast reload guide.

My G24C and G34 are both pretty much stock, except for aftermarket slide stops.
I did exchange my 2nd gen frame on my G24C for a 3rd gen model.

Mine is a 3rd Gen G17L the serial # starts with HFU. It is completely stock, and wears a GLOCK light fulltime. I also got a 33rnd mag when I picked up the gun.;f It looks pretty sweet with the tac light and 33rnd mag hanging out of the mag well.;f

I am considering a compensated Storm Lake barrel as well. The cutout on the slide coupled with a stainless compensated barrel is too tempting to pass up. This is my 'fun gun' after all.;a

I think the extended tungsten rod will be heavier than the standard Harrt rod. I don't think there is much recoil reduced from the balls and the springs or the mercury inside the Harrt. I think the weight does most of it.
If a tungsten rod can reduce recoil on my G-20, it can surely do it on a 17L.
The tungsten rod will also be compatable with any spring you might buy.

P.S.
The extended length of the rod will make getting an uncaptured spring into the slide a lot easier.
With my standard length rod in my G-20, getting those 22 pound springs in place can be a bear. 18 pounders are a breeze though.

I want to play, here's my set-up:

This is the setup of my G24C for IPSC.
Customized by self.
3.5 connector/reduced striker spring/polished major
internal parts = 2.25 lbs. trigger pull.
Modified Seidler mount with modified C-More reddot.
SoCal magwell.
Other than that, everything is Glock stocks.

How is the hardchrome holding with holster wear?

Wolverine,
I have a G34 with night sights and a harrts, the 34 feels like a Ruger MkII when "recoiling" - or lack thereof.

357 out.

On my 34, I've installed a Dawson FO front, adjustable rear, polished internals, and changed out the stiker and trigger springs. I shoot our club's Glock style and Action match's with it. Also shot my 1st GSSF match with it in Orlando this year ('04 Schedule).

The 24C, I'm experimenting with. I polished both sides of the slide this past weekend and left the finish on top. I installed a Ghost Rocket Connector and changed out the striker and trigger springs as well and have done just about a total polish job on it. All I'm waiting on now is for a red C-More to come in to Bobby Carver and then pick up one of his Carver mounts and a stainless Novac mag well. Pretty much just building a fun gun, but I want to get into shooting a local USPSA match with it and GSSF unlimited.

CFII - Who hardchromed your slide? I just sent off my 24 slide to Tripp to have them hardchrome it. I am anxiously waiting its return.

This pick was taken after I finished using 150 grit sandpaper, I have since polished it out w/ the Dremil, just don't have any pics yet.

Actually, I dont know. I am I think the 3rd owner. I do assume that its Tripps due do the fact that I am in Texas, and the pistol is a texan too...

Aye, thanks for the complements on my blasters :)

I use the Hogue because my hands are big enough that I need the extra fill of the Hogue, especially in the hollow of my palms. The stock grip is just too narrow feeling, and the finger grooves are just not exactly in the right place for me. The Hogue allows me to move the location of the ginfergrooves just enough that it feels exactly right ;f
