View Full Version : Double Tap 147 grain Coming TxDoc 08-15-2005, 18:01 From an email: "We will be making that loading available in September!" spcwes 08-16-2005, 10:05 As well as a 115gr. I hope Mike does not get mad at me for letting that one out of the bag. Can't wait. Both Gold Dots as far as I know. PaleGreenHorse 08-17-2005, 00:17 Sweet! I hope the Golden Sabers will follow. churchman2003c 08-17-2005, 08:55 Yikes! a 115 grain also? What's Mike trying to do, get a lock on the market?;a spcwes 08-17-2005, 11:11 I hope so! I am pimping his loads to everyone that shoots. I would venture to guess that the 115gr load for the 357sig will close in on 1650fps or better. Maybe even 1700fps and as tested in the 9X25, the bullet stays together well. Can't wait. DonGlock26 08-17-2005, 13:20 Any 147gr Golddots in the picture? That would be a great round. spcwes 08-17-2005, 13:37 That is what the 147gr 357 sig load will be. That will be the primary round that Mike loads with due to the superior performance of the bullet. Not sure if any bullet other than the Barnes X bullets stay together as well as the Gold Dot HPs do. Great bullet design!! Great bullet design!! Sounds great! Does he show gelatin test results? 357DAS 08-17-2005, 22:36 Guess that posting for people requesting the 147gr and 115gr worked. Can't wait to see the numbers on the 147's. MPG1737 08-17-2005, 22:46 Originally posted by spcwes As well as a 115gr. I hope Mike does not get mad at me for letting that one out of the bag. Can't wait. Both Gold Dots as far as I know. Old news. All the fps data was posted awhile ago for the 115, 124, and 147.;) Many of us have been anticipating these loads for some time now. 115gr = 1400fps 124gr = 1300fps 147gr = 1125fps If I am not mistaken. 357glocker 08-18-2005, 01:17 MPG1737, Are those numbers for the 357sig or 9mm? I hope he gets better velocity than that beings velocity is what most of his ammo is known for. In my own handloads I get 1485fps with a 124grn FP, and 1254fps with 147gr JHP's. Stout loads, but no excessive pressure signs. PaleGreenHorse 08-18-2005, 03:29 Originally posted by MPG1737 Old news. Those numbers are definately not for the 357sig loads because my DT 125gr. Gold Dots are listed at 1450fps out of a 4' barrel. Coffindodger! 08-18-2005, 04:07 147gr = 1125fps I hope that's for 9mm... I know energy isn't everything, but for 357Sig I would hope we could get those energy figures above 410fpe... Like say 550fpe...? 147gr. @ 1300 would be nice. Double Tap advertises as having 'true .357 mag performance .357 Sigs... or at least that's what I remember the last time I visited the site awhile ago. ;g MPG1737 08-18-2005, 07:50 Originally posted by PaleGreenHorse Those numbers are definately not for the 357sig loads because my DT 125gr. I accidentally posted the numbers for the 9mm DoubleTap. ;i spcwes 08-18-2005, 08:07 From what I have been told the 147gr load will be around or over 1300fps and the 115gr, man there is no tellin. This round out a Glock 31 may hit 1650fps or maybe (cross of fingers) 1700fps. I know if some of you guys/gals with a G35 and the aftermarket barrels run this ammo it will be awesome. I would expect the 115gr load to run well over 1700fps and you may even see closer to 1400fps with the 147gr load. I am going to check the 115gr out and may end up carrying it in my 32 but I have not decided yet. I have always felt that the 115gr in 9mm was to light but hey, 1600fps looks pretty promising especially sense the bullet is holding up well at that speed. I will be sure to tell you as my order is already in!!!! glockawakka 08-20-2005, 16:07 a 147gr load most def got my attention!! NoJoy 08-21-2005, 20:41 I would also like to see something loaded up for a woods gun. 140gr or the 147gr in fmj at 1300fps for max penatration. The G-35 would be a great outdoors gun. spcwes 08-22-2005, 08:53 If you are using the Glock 35 with a 357sig barrel and the 147gr load from DT you will get well over 1300fps!! The way Mike works you will probably see a practice load in that range as well and it will likely be a 147FMJ. NoJoy 08-22-2005, 11:03 I am counting on it! spcwes 08-22-2005, 11:15 Please keep us posted on your results if you can. I do not have a 35 with the conversion barrel yet. That is on my list though! srfl 08-28-2005, 11:31 Time to get a .357 SIG Bar Sto barrel for my Walther P99! vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
