View Full Version : 2nd Gen G20 - need to upgrade it?
I purchased recently a used 2nd Gen G20. I dated its manufacture to 1991 on TopGlock. A friend of mine told me that I need to have it upgraded to prevent KB's. Is this true, or how can I tell if it has already been upgraded? Any ideas/opinions on this would be great. Thanks.
call glock and ask - they keep records of those upgraded
personally i have one of that age and i shoot it with feeb lite type loads and some doubletap 155 gr stuff - still shoots fine
have 3rd gen with 20# spring for all dt type loads
I just sent mine in (it's also a 1991 make), and Glock did a lot of things to it. I don't think you will have any problems with yours as is, but why not get the upgrades. They are free. I only had to pay for shipping. Glock didn't charge me a dime. Of note: I called a local Glock Armorer - Bolsa Gunsmithing - and they quoted me a price of $40-50 for labor only, plus they would charge me the price of the parts. They gave me a 10 day turn around estimte. IMO I was better off just sending it straight to Glock. Glock had it back at my doorstep exactly 14 days from the date I shipped it off. And it was cheaper than dealing with Bolsa.
Steel and all,
Thanks for the info regarding having Glock upgrade it. I just got off the phone with them, and that is exactly what they told me "free" to upgrade all the parts. I just pay for one way shipping. Can't beat that. I asked them to check if all the upgrades had been done, but tech service told me that they keep a record, but it is all in cardboard boxes in back, and that it would be nearly impossible to look it up ;P
