Do you have a 6K gallon dump tank to hold all that water on the fire grounds or does the truck stay there until it's empty?

We use 2K gallon straight trucks w/ fold-a-tanks to store the water on site so the truck can return to the fill site.

In MN there are no rules inRE the driving of fire apparatus. My class "d" license (lowest) allows me to drive ANY vehicle in my fleet. I would hope that whoever is driving that tanker has a CDL. Also, is it baffled or does it like to rock and surge when 1/2 full?

We fill our tanker on scene. If our company responds to a fire and its big enough to the point where there's a chance of the tanker running out of water, then the odds are there's gonna be other companies there as well. We usually refill off of other tankers if we're the first responding units. But it's usually not a problem. The new engine has all kinds of goodies in it, it even has air conditioning and a cd player.
