I want to keep my 23 as reliable as possible for self defense. Currently I have fired 2000rnds thru it, when should I start to think about spring replacement, or any other parts replacements to insure complete reliability? So far this pistol has been 100% reliable with no failures of any kind.

If you practice often with it you will be able to tell when it needs new springs. 2000 rounds is wayyyyy to early. DannyR has a G19 with over 50K rounds I think with all the original springs and its still running fine.

From http://www.custom-glock.com/maint.html
Recoil Springs:
This will depends on the load you shoot and the type of springs you are using.
Stock Springs: Change every 15,000-25,000 rounds as a preventitive measure.
ISMI Springs: Change every 5,000-10,000 as a preventitive measure.
The FBI tested 3 G22's and 3 G23's, 20,000 rounds each without a parts replacement.

Thanks for the reassurances. This the first semiauto pistol I've owned that has been this reliable. I should have gone Glock 20 years ago, but the plastic always scared me off.
