I have a new Colt 6920 carbine.
I know how to field strip, and disassemble the bolt carier. I plan to clean everything then re-lube including cleaning the barrel.
Do you reccommend that I disassemble and clean the:
1: trigger group
2: bolt spring / recoil spring assembly
3: gas tube
?????
TIA,
Tito

I'd give the bolt/carrier, upper receiver, and barrel a good clean and lube. Only other part I'd worry about would be giving the buffer and tube a light coat of oil in case it ran off during storage and shipping. I wouldn't be too concerned about the trigger group, gas tube, etc.
Enjoy it.

:) Nice carbine. Leave the gas tube and trigger group alone for now. Get a hold of one of Brownell's catalogs. It's got all of the special tools you'll need to eventually strip and tune that puppy. The next step is a compact Trijicon ACOG.
Check this out! (http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-15x16-acog-with-m16-base-tritium-illuminated-amber-dot-reticle-bac-ta44-5.html)
Here's Brownells (http://www.brownells.com/Default.aspx) ;)
i use clp or oil on the trigger/hammer pins in the trigger group, smoothes the trigger action some
