View Full Version : First AR...tomorrow!
I've got my Stag upper. Yeah, the one gorelicks recommended. ;f
I've been looking for weeks for a lower FTF. Finally found someone with a Colt Match Target (normal pin size) lower.
A bit more spendy than I wanted, but I'm going to have an AR tomorrow night! And I can always sell the Colt lower and get 2 stag lowers!

Congrats!! Feels good to be out of CA, huh?
What do you get when you breed a Colt with a Stag?

I have not yet been able to shoot it. But the AR is a very good weapon. I like it.
I am amused that the Colt part is an evil gray rifle and the Stag part is nice and black. ;f

Fashion faux pas! We're banishing you from the mall, dude. Get some pink heat shields and buttstock on that rifle and we might let you patrol Spencer's with us. :D

How did the two halves mate? Are they tight, loose, or just right?
The fit is pretty good. It was a bit tough getting the pins lined up and in, but once the pins are in, the halves lock up real nice.
I don't know how tough it's supposed to be to pin the thing together, since that was my first time. ;f

Yeah, it can vary among manufacturers and even batch's...
ah, hence the accuwedge doohickey I've heard of.
I don't think my halfbreed colt needs it.

Well, not terribly surprising considering the Colt lower and the Stag upper were most likely made at the same location...

Heh. Thats the proper encouragement for the first week of law school!
I actually need a "sponsoring member" to join LGC. Would you happen to be a member? ;)

Dude, nothing matters until the last 2 weeks of each semester. If you bust your butt during those periods, and can write well, you'll do fine. Trust me. BTDT.
My membership there lapsed when I graduated - so I can't help you there. Just show up on a Saturday afternoon and talk to folks at the firing line. That's what I did.
