I recently attended a GLOCK Armorer's Course and the instructor told us about an illegal "buzz plate" that someone has come up with to make the GLOCK fully automatic. This "buzz plate" simply replaces the slide cover plate and is easy to install. I am aware of the one made by FSS-G and this is not the one that I am refering to, although it is similar in construction, except for the selector switch. This one is illegal!
What I was wondering is if anyone has a picture or any further information about these "buzz plates". I want this information for Law Enforcement purposes. I am a trainer at a police academy and this could be a serious officer safety issue that I want my officers to be aware of. Any info would be of great help.
Thanks,
Ken

I have seen it but can't remember what site it was on. I can tell you that it looks stock from the out side. It has the bar attached to it on the inside of the cover that allows full auto. I couldn't figure out from the pic how they attached the bar so that it would stay in place. Scary how simple these are to make.

Not sure about the new one of which you speak, but a friend has/had one of the legal ones and he put it on a G20. Now let me tell you, G20 full auto is a rockin' beast.
Good luck on your info search.

Never saw these illegal ones, but have heard about them.
Here is a legal device. You can see how it contacts the sear plate via the metal ridge that runs parallel to the striker.
I imagine the illegal ones do not have select fire, and thus use a regular looking cover plate. The best way for an officer to check is to unload and make safe, then lock slide back and look to see if there is any metal running along the underside of the slide to contact the sear. If you see any metal running along either side of the striker channel, it would be suspect.

I researched these devices a few years back. On was made stateside in Arizona, the other in Venezuela. Contacted both - I couldn't buy the US one as I didn't qualify (cop, military, etc.) The guy in Venezuela was more then willing to sell me one although I'd be breaking the law if I received and kept it. Price was around $175 or so for both if I remember correctly.

This seems to be what you are referring to.
