i just got a wolf 21# recoil spring and rod guide for my g29 and want to make sure im putting it together right. it seems pretty striaght foreward, but when its together and in the gun, should the inner rod be sticking out of the gun? and what on earth is the 3rd, smaller diameter spring for? these may be stupid questions but id rather ask than ruin my gun or myself. thanks for the help.
When installed and compressed, your Wolff recoil spring should look like a factory spring. The 3rd spring is a firing pin spring, if I rem correctly.
This pick may help...

yeah thats what it looks like, i was just wonderin if, when assembled, the smaller rod should be sticking out the front of the gun. it functions normally as far as i can tell but i want to be 100% sure before i start shootin it.
This is interesting...I just ordered a Wolff 22# spring/guide rod combo for my G20. According to Wolff's website, a "factory strength" striker spring is included. Why? Is it necessary to replace the striker spring, and if so, why with one of the same strength? Also, is it difficult to install? Not that I mind messing around with disassembled guns, of course. :)

Whenever I buy Wolf recoil springs they have always included the extra striker spring. You shouldn’t need to replace the striker spring in your G20 unless you are getting light primer strikes like I was in both my 20 and 29. Popped in an extra strength striker spring and problem was solved. The striker springs are easy to replace all you need is a small punch or the Glock disassembly tool.
Okay, good to know, thanks for the info carosem. :)
