Installing Exstended Slide Stop Question

Im new to Glocks,just had my Glock17 since this past fathers day.
Just order a exstended slide stop and a exstended mag release for my G17.

I have seen pix's on web sites on how to take one apart etc.

My Question is this, can I just push out the Trigger pin out half way and remove current slide stop & than slide the new exstended slide stop in and push the trigger pin back in?

The top pin has to be in anyways,so slide stop spring can rest under it.

Just curious,didnt want take it all apart if I dont have to.

Your help is much appreciated.

Yes that will work. When you put the new slide stop lever in wigle the slide stop lever up and down, back and forth slightly when you push on the trigger pin so you don't bend the new lever trying to force the pin in.

Thanks for the replies and the advice,will use caution installing the trigger pin back in.

I've built 1911s and always taking care of my own guns.
But,Glocks are a new breed compared to none plastic guns.
