View Full Version : Which 40 replacement barrel has the most support?
I have installed, Bar Sto, Wilson, KKM and Briely barrels but have never compared them side by side to see who has the most case support. Please if you have pictures or measurements of your aftermarket barrels chamber support post it here.
I have a project G-35 that I am working on and will need all the chamber support I can get.

Why do you need more support than the stock barrel offers?

Uh-oh...
Check with Clark. He welds up the support area and rechambers for total support for his high pressure experiments. Correct, Clark?
Their is nothing wrong with the stock barrel for standard loads, but when pushing major to the max and rechambering to 9x23 I need full support. I have one G-20 with a Bar Sto barrel and it is very close to full support, I was just wondering about the 9mm barrels.

There is no such thing as full support in any glock barrel. barsto is about the best and also has the best overall barrels.
I have no firsthand experience with the 9X23 but I've read that 9X23 is one of the few high pressure cartridges that can be safely shot in an unsupported barrel because the brass in the web area is so thick.
That is true that the 9x21 has a much thicker web but these will be at max loadings, so I prefer the most support I can get. True no semi auto has 100% support but some have quite a bit more then others. I agree that Bar Sto has the most inherently accurate barrels on the market and the one I have in my G-20 is as close as full supported as you can probably get I would still like to see and hear comparisons with other top brands.
