Over the years I have installed numerous sights (for myself and friends) on Glocks, HK's, S&W's, Taurus, etc without any significant difficulty. I bought a Novak rear sight from Kahr to replace the factory sight, but I can't budge the sight in the slide. I have a substantial vice with aluminum/neoprene padded jaws.
Is this rear sight a) glued in with Loctite or similar or b) screwed from underneath?
Any guidance you can provide will be much appreciated.
thanks,
Mike
I'd check with the Kahr forum here at GT (http://www.glocktalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=111) to see if things have changed. But Kahr sights are pressed in under tremendous pressure and have a notoriously tight fit. Some have been successful, but many have had to send their slide back to Kahr.
My last P9 Covert was that way; fortunately it needed no drifting as it shot my load of choice to POA. And that wasn't their sight; those were Trijicons they installed at the factory & they weren't going anywhere.
I replaced the standard sights on my P40 2 or 3 years ago. It is strictly a friction-fit with NO Loc-tite. I used a padded vise, 20 oz. hammer and a 1/4" brass drift/punch. Be patient and keep at it... it'll come out.

Thanks for the encouragement, Catbird! I did as you suggested and it slowly came out. Man, what a tight fit. They must use a special arbor press adapted for the purpose to put them in at the factory.
Thanks again,
Mike

I have done a few, they were supertight but not as tight as an XD. Just beat on it until it comes out.
