View Full Version : Pics of my recently finished 2nd AR wishywashy 08-25-2005, 16:16 This is a pic of my most recent project, It's a Bushy. RMTactical 08-25-2005, 16:56 Nice! How do you like the G27 grip? wishywashy 08-25-2005, 17:13 I like it. You can grip it a little higher than the standard A2 grip, it gives you more of a feel of control, and it's very comfortable. The finger grooves have a stippled feel to them, even my sweaty palms won't lose there grip. USMCsilver 08-25-2005, 21:26 Who is that grip made by? I've got Tango Downs, and love them, but that doesn't look too bad. wishywashy 08-25-2005, 21:35 Tdi arms makes it, here's there web site, gotta type it in because it won't work as a hyperlink. www.tdi-arms.com USMCsilver 08-25-2005, 21:58 Originally posted by wishywashy Tdi arms makes it, here's a link to there web site: http://www.tdi-arms.com/ (http://) You screwed up the link. You can't click it. Please edit for others. Thanks! USMCsilver 08-25-2005, 22:04 Also, I forgot to mention that I REALLY, REALLY like what you have done with the Aimpoint. I have a "beater" that I'd like to add optics to, but I'm trying to keep costs down. However, I think that a RAS may be in order so I can mount a CompM on a Cantilever like that. I thought about the ARMS gooseneck, and that would be cheaper, but, that just looks good. And the bad thing is, if I get the RAS, then I'd end up with a M962, the a TD VFG, then... Okay, note to self: stop it -- keep it in the $400 beater realm! You bastard -- detach that pic and stop tempting me! wishywashy 08-25-2005, 22:36 Actually, that's a YHM 2 piece rail system, only 109.00 shipped, that's cheap, you know you want one.^~ Those handguards fit extremely tight, so they don't shift on you. Even if they shifted a little, an Aimpoint is a CQB sight anyway, so it wouldn't shift your point of aim enough at inside 50 yards to matter. I've roughed that gun up pretty good and never had a problem with them yet. USMCsilver 08-25-2005, 22:53 I am, indeed, an Aimpoint fan and do love the repeated accuracy from them. For some odd reason, I am biased against YHM stuff. Call me funny, but that's just me. I'm up to 3 Aimpoints; I think I gotta get an abused one for my beater... http://webpages.charter.net/usmcsilver/images/aimpointlove.jpg wishywashy 08-25-2005, 22:58 I'm callin ya funny.^3 One more note, that Aimpoint on the cantilever mount co-witnesses perfectly on the handguard rails. You've given me some good ideas for mounting an Aimpoint on one of my "naked" A2's. get2now 08-26-2005, 12:21 Just had to throw in my most recent project. Many different brands for parts but it was built around the Holosight mainly for the USPSA 3-Gun Nationals coming up in October. http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/1709/mvc002f2cl.th.jpg (http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mvc002f2cl.jpg) RMTactical 08-26-2005, 13:42 Originally posted by ChessMan Some serious gun porn on this thread! I'm trying to figure out what to do with an old SP1 carbine with fixed carry handle. I think I might give an AP mount on YHM handguards a shot (pun intended). Of course I need to buy ANOTHER aimpoint in order to do this (you guys are killing me). wishywashy 08-26-2005, 17:04 I just love the look of the A2, I've got a flat top Colt, but I love the profile of a carry handle. Gorelicks, how do you like the ACOG? I've thought about trying one. Is that Aimpoint on a Larue mount? RMTactical 08-26-2005, 17:31 Sorry, didn't know you only wanted A2's. I'm not a huge fan of A2's and I usually discourage people from getting A2's, in general. Although, for my third AR, I am going with an A2 upper (sometimes I wonder if I should have). Neither of those guns are mine. I assembled them for a couple friends of mine. Both use the LaRue mount, I believe LaRue is the hands down best mount there is, ACOG or Aimpoint. I love my ACOG. I have a TA31 like the one pictured in there. Target acquistion is super fast at a longer range. I use mine on my M4 to hunt coyotes and I was able to hit a coyote from about 50-60 yards once, and then again on the run. He went down hard on the second shot. For anything at a longer range/outdoors the ACOG is the best. For indoors, the Aimpoint is hard to beat. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
