Just for fun, I wandered around a local Ford dealer lot today. It was really interesting. They were very short of Mustangs and Explorers and Focus'. But they had lots and lots and lots of F150's, Expeditions and Crown Victorias. I'd heard sales were good because of the discounts and all but I suspect some cars are selling well and others aren't. I'm thinking the meteoric rise of gas prices is affecting the discount price incentive. What do you think?

There'll be fire sales on the guzzlers at year end.

Focus= $25,000; Explorer+ $13,000 and no buyers.

Ford caught with pants down: no Focus on any dealer lots.

Sales are up 22% or something... they are going to have to continue incentives or they won't sell anything in the future...

FYI the mustangs aren't eligible for the discount. They can actually sell those. ;)

Also the F-150s aren't eligible either. It is the best selling vehicle in the US after all. They must have just made way too many.

Actually, the F-150's do get the discount. My father in law just bought one (4X4 crew cab) last week and in all, he got it for about $10K less than what the MSRP usually is.
