im a lefty and shooting idpa, iwant to shoot my springfield 1911, i know this thread might belong to another forum but i wanted to ask the 1911 crowd. iwant a good ambi safety .installation is no problem i currently do all my own work to my guns ,i dont claim to be a gunsmith .iam a tool&die maker by trade so even a non drop in part ,if its a quality brand,will work for me .ijust recieved my bronells catalog so something recomended from it would be great thanks for the help td
I use Chip McCormick's on all my 1911's that didn't come with one already in place.

Got 'em all, tried 'em all. (Colt's, Brown, McCormick, King's, SVI)
Brown's is best overall IMNSHO.
The original Colt ambidextrous safety is good too, if it fits you.
