View Full Version : New G36 owner has ? re: Pearce mag ext.
Hi. I'm new to this forum and to Glocks and have a couple questions about the Pearce mag extension for the G36.
Can you use a plug with these extensions?
Are the factory mag springs sufficient for reliable feeding or do you need the +10% springs?
I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

I had too many problems with extensions, and I did use +10% springs.
So I went back to OEM springs with no extensions.
Schearer does have an "attachment" plug, for the plus 1 extension which clips to the extension thus fits into backstrap.
My advice is either get +0 extension and G36 jentra glock plug style.
The G36 plug contures to bottom of magazine Floorplate same with +0 extensions, so you dont get bit or pinched. FWIW

I have 16 of the Glock 36 mags, 8 each with Pearce "+0" and "+1" magazine baseplates.
All work flawlessly with Wolf "extra power" springs.
I won't even have a magazine with stock Glock springs ever since I had a stock G23 magazine spring fail; the spring "set" so thoroughly after the magazine was left fully loaded for 6 months that it wouldn't feed even the top round.
Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not, but ever since that experience I've used only Wolf and ISMI magazine springs, and never again had a failure to feed with a Glock in any caliber.
