View Full Version : Question regarding Comp-Tac and G30s
I've been looking at the Comp-Tac line of IWB holsters, and was wondering if I can get some advice. I've been looking at the ShirtTucker as well C-T.A.C., and both sound interesting to hold my G30 with minimal concealment and maximum comfort.
Anybody have any thoughts on which is the better holster?
And, are you using the slide or the full holster? Is there a comfort difference in that regard as well?
Thanks!
I don't know about the shirt tucker, but I carry my G30 in the C-TAC all the time. Also, I carry my G21 in it as well. Very comfortable...full holster.
I also use it for shooting IDPA matches.
I carried an XD Sub (40) in a C-TAC and I have to say that it was without a doubt, one of the most comfortable holsters I have ever worn.
I now carry a G30 in a Sparks Exec Companion and would not trade it for the world.
Needless to say, I would not hesitate to use a C-TAC for the G30 as I'm sure it's just as comfortable. I'm simply a leather kind of guy.

I know there are many laws about CC in places, so a lot of people remove their gun/holster in the car. Wouldn't it be easier to remove the gun, but leave the C-TAC on if just running into a building? Or, do some states have always against wearing gun holsters as well?
I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck, was just wondering if that becomes the case in some places.
Thanks for the great info though!

I recently got a Shirt Tucker instead of a C-TAC for my G23 as I wanted an easy on-off IWB holster and only one clip. I find the holster to be relatively comfortable (more comforting) at the 3:30 position under my jeans with a good 1˝" belt. It rides very stable yet I can reposition it a bit after wearing it a long time to avoid constant pressure in the same spot. Also, in the car, I cant it a bit more for comfort too.
It’s easy to remove, harder to put on (especially in the car) but no real problem. The C-TAC seems like the ticket if you plan to wear it all day as it is a real pain to remove and replace in the car. I need to take mine on and off so I went with the Shirt Tucker and I'm completely satisfied with no plans to convert it to a C-TAC.

ColoradoGlocker has nailed the answer to your question.
Pack up in the AM and wear till you go to bed--CTAC
Have to put it on and take it off a couple of times a day or more---Shirttucker
I use a 1 1/4" reinforced gun belt from Aker through GALLS--works.
I have a C.T.A.C. G30 Very nice product. Minor PITA to install quickly
but so what;) very comphy here in sweatsy SW FL.
